There are a few guys that we can introduce you all to this year. We are going to start out with some skilled positions, and then go on to the trenches. Let’s check it out.
Travis Burgess Travis Burgess 6'2" | 165 lbs | QB GA – 6’3″ 170 – Whitefield Academy / @TB1
Burgess has so much potential. He’s a good decision-maker who’s willing to go beyond his first read to find a throw he likes. Flashes the ability to throw with anticipation and to manipulate defenders with his eyes. He doesn’t need to have a wide-open receiver to target them; he trusts his receivers/arm enough to try and stick passes. Can put passes on receivers in stride downfield, facilitating yards after the catch. Not a rushing threat but is a pretty good athlete who can escape pressure and buy time.
Andre Michaud – 5’9″ 186 – Screven County HS / @andremichaud_
Hard runner who’s able to get through arm tackles and fights hard to push the pile and pick up extra yardage after contact, wearing down defenders over the course of the game. Able to squeeze through congestion and burrow ahead for additional yardage. Can hear the pads click when he lowers his shoulder. Violent spin move allows him to create something out of nothing when faced with early penetration.
Anddreas Mckinny – Bryan County HS
It starts with Mckinny’s effort. This is a guy who seems desperate to be involved in the play, and he will take any path to the ball in the process. He usually plays with good leverage, and he when arrives at the ball carrier he drives through them. Mckinny also wraps up well as a tackler. Even when taking on blocks, his aggression and physicality are impressive. There is an old saying that it’s better to be the hammer than the nail, and Mckinny is usually the former.
