The 2022 season was a big one for sophomores across the state of Georgia, and we saw a few of them have breakout seasons this fall.

Which sophomores added new offers recently? Let's take a look...

[player_tooltip player_id='338633' first='Ethan' last='Barbour'] - TE - Alpharetta

One of the top pass-catching tight ends across the entire country in the 2025. lass, Barbour is a talented new-age tight end who can make a massive impact in the passing game at the next level. The 6-foot-3 215-pounder is a big target as a receiver and has a natural ability to make plays over and over again. He already has a handful of impressive D1 offers, and he earned a new one this week from Auburn. He also holds offers from Georgia, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, among others. He'll be one of thee top tight end prospects across Georgia next year regardless of class and has a chance to lead all tight ends in thee metro-Atlanta area next fall as a junior. As a sophomore last season, Barbour led a strong Alpharetta team with 51 catches to go along with 714 yards and 12 touchdowns. Look for him to have an even bigger role in the offseason in 2023 as the Raiders attempt to continue their winning ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='275996' first='Amari' last='Alston'] - RB - Grayson

The Grayson Rams always have a talented back on the roster and they have one of Gwinnett County's top sophomore backs in reserve [player_tooltip player_id='275996' first='Amari' last='Alston']. In a backup role, Alston still earned plenty of carries, an impressive feat for any young back playing on a talented 7A team like Grayson. A shifty back with breakaway speed, Alston showed good patience, burst and the ability to make defenders miss. He shows quick feet and plays bigger than his size. As a sophomore last season, Alston was third on the team in rushing, gaining 585 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers faded at the end of the season, but the 5-foot-8 170-pounder showed he can carry the load if asked, rushing for over 100 yards in three games against quality 7A competition. He showed a lot of potential last year and should see more carries come his way as a junior next season. He received his first offer this week from Western Kentucky and could see more come his way down the road.

[player_tooltip player_id='321494' first='Peyton' last='Joseph'] - OT - Peach County

One of the top young offensive linemen across Georgia, Peyton is a versatile lineman who can play tackle or guard right now at the high school level. Just a sophomore, Joseph has already seen plenty of action early in his career and has turned into quite the D1 target. A big but lean offensive lineman at 6-foot-3 280-pounds, Joseph moves well for his size and plays with a mean streak. He shows good footwork, plays with balance, and loves to finish his blocks. The 2025 OL class in Georgia is loaded, and the Middle Georgia lineman from Fort Valley is one of thee best. He has plenty of D1 offers already and earned a new one recently from Michigan. He's getting better and better and should be a force to deal with for any defender next year as a junior.
