The class of 2024 has an impressive number of talented wide receivers that have the potential to play on Saturdays in the future. We are going to look at some wide receivers you may already be familiar with and a few more you get familiar with quickly.
Courtney Crutchfield Courtney Crutchfield 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Pine Bluff | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Pine Bluff
The Pine Bluff wide receiver has the talent to turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Crutchfield works the outside and the slot receiver positions with equal effectiveness. He uses his speed well to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Crutchfield has the ability to go up and high point the football. With scholarship offers from Memphis, Arkansas, and Kansas State to his credit, I look for him to continue his strong offseason. He has the potential to do big things on Saturdays in the future.
Shawn Rycraw Shawn Rycraw 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Bryant | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Bryant
One thing that the Bryant Hornets are never at a shortage of is quality playmakers. Shawn Rycraw Shawn Rycraw 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Bryant | 2024 State AR has the speed to stretch the field deep and keep the opposing defense honest. Rycraw is the type of wide receiver that can work the underneath routes as well as the deep routes. The Bryant offense does a great job of mixing the run with the pass and this has the potential to be a big season for Rycraw. Keep an eye on the talented Bryant receiver this upcoming season.
Lachlan McKinney Lachlan McKinney 5'11" | 195 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Fayetteville
Fayetteville wide receiver Lachlan McKinney Lachlan McKinney 5'11" | 195 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2024 State AR opened plenty of eyes during the 2022 football season. McKinney does an impressive job of running polished routes. He creates separation from opposing defensive backs through his crisp route running. McKinney has the speed needed to stretch the field for the Bulldogs. He is a wide receiver that scouts will want to keep an eye on this season. McKinney earned all-state honors in 2022 and I look for him to continue to build off of that performance.
Mabry Verser Mabry Verser 6'4" | 215 lbs | WR Rogers | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Rogers
The Rogers Mounties passing attack was a facet of the team that was impressive throughout the 2022 season. Verser has the size and athletic ability needed to go up and high point the football. In the red zone, Verser is a threat to go up and haul in the football. He is a wide receiver that has a knack for hauling in big receptions. A facet of his game that does not get the credit it deserves is his speed. The Rogers Mounties have plenty of talented players coming back and Verser has the potential to put up some big numbers this upcoming season.
CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Bentonville | 2024 State AR -Athlete-Bentonville
The versatility that CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Bentonville | 2024 State AR has is what makes him such a dangerous player to attempt to contain. When looking at him at the wide receiver position, Brown is a player that can stretch the field deep and make highlight reel plays in the process. The Bentonville wide receiver has seen his recruitment continue to blow up over the past couple of weeks and that is a trend I expect to continue. Brown is going to be a prospect that teams have recruiting battles for over the next couple of months. He is a prospect to watch out for in 2023.
