2024 RBs to Know This Off-season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are some very good running backs in this class. We have a great variety of running backs in MS. We have guys with great speed, we have guys with a lot of size, and some guys have both. The state has seen some running backs do some great things on the next level. I think this 2024 class has great potential to do the same.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='346420' first='Gavin' last='Griffin'], Velma Jackson </strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gavin is a straight up dog at running back. When you watch his film you will be truly impressed. He can do a lot of different things. Griffin is a guy that has speed and power. He can take it between the tackles, or hurt you catching passes out of the backfield. Griffin has great vision that allows him to hit the correct holes. He also knows how to lower his shoulder for extra yards. He is always falling forward after contact. Griffin is a guy to keep up with. He has several power five interests, but no school has pulled the trigger yet.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Ahmad Hardy, Lawrence Co</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hardy hardly ever has a bad game. This is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound monster in the backfield. Hardy is going to make sure he gets his yards every game. He brings the spark to his team when he his the field. They feed off the way he runs the football. Hardy also has the nice build of a great old school running back. He is a player that can handle 20-plus carries a game. He has good speed to go with his size as well. Hardy does not have any offers, but I expect that to change this season. Lawrence Co produces the wing t style offense. He needs to hit a few camps so coaches can see he is versatile. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='346421' first='Jay' last='Stevenson'], Heritage Academy </strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='346421' first='Jay' last='Stevenson'] can tote the rock with anybody. This big guy is a mean force to deal with out of the backfield. I love the way he runs the football. Stevenson is also a true leader on his team. He is the kind of guy that does not let his teammates get their head down. He is another running back that has great vision. Stevenson gets behinds his pads when he runs the ball. That brings a lot of extra power coming from his long body. I think he has a chance to be a power five running back. He needs to hit the camps hard this off-season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='293192' first='Omar' last='Scott'], Winston Academy </strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Scott is a kid that excels on both sides of the football. Some people will say he is a linebacker. Scott can do it all. He has good speed with great vision. He is another running back that knows how to lead his squad. I would love to see him get behind those pads more. He has a nice frame that can make it very hard for opposing linebackers. I want to see him play some 7v7 this off-season. He has some great athleticism and needs to show it off. Scott isn't just a big running back with power.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
