2024 Lansing Area Top Offensive Players

I like how Amachree can read where the opening is and make a quick cut and accelerate downfield for a long touchdown run. Amachree looks very comfortable running in the open field and has no problem making defenders miss. He has good hands and catches the ball well. Haslett did a good job of running screens to him out of the backfield to get him into open space. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#5 [player_tooltip player_id='249757' first='Jahi' last='Wood'] | RB | Lansing Waverly | <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13740645/6356ef723df5110f70e9cd6b">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The speed stands out for certain when watching <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='249757' first='Jahi' last='Wood']'s</strong> tape. He had a very nice run against Grand Ledge where he quickly gets to the outside and runs by a defender with an angle for what ended up being a 60-plus-yard touchdown run. Wood is a physical runner who will put his head down and run through tacklers. He shows terrific effort on every carry and does not want to get tackled.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong> #66 [player_tooltip player_id='249745' first='Logan' last='Allen'] | OL | Grand Ledge | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2JaV7b">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Allen is violent at the point of attack and I mean this in the best way possible. He is not shy of the initial contact and this helps him to create lane-clearing blocks for his teammates. Allen is very athletic and can block in the open field on running-back screenplays. Allen plays with very good leverage and does a great job of staying in a low, athletic position when he engages defenders. Allen's athleticism and technique allow him to hold his blocks long enough so backs run past him without being touched by the defender. I like his game a lot and am very excited to watch him create more highlight reel blocks in 2023. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#15 [player_tooltip player_id='249813' first='Ben' last='Buzzard'] | QB/WR | Charlotte | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2JmtGU">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Buzzard is a very good athlete who can throw from different arm angles on the run. Buzzard is a good runner who can execute the read option successfully. He carries out his fakes well and does a great job of running the offense overall. He has a very good size at 6-3, 175 lbs. Buzzard has a strong arm and can throw accurate balls and a tight spiral. Buzzard is a very good receiver as well and does a great job of snatching the football out of the air quickly. Charlotte liked to run screens to him to get him the ball in open space where he can use his speed to turn upfield and pick up yardage.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#3 [player_tooltip player_id='249762' first='Evan' last='Walker'] | WR | Lansing Waverly | <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2Jknfe">Hudl</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Walker has very good speed and has shown a lot of great ability as a kick returner. Walker is a great competitor and really competes on every play. Walker has very good acceleration and picks up yards quickly. He changes direction very well and it really helps him make defenders miss. Walker is a good route runner and with his speed and quickness, he has no problem creating separation. I like how Waverly would run end-around to Walker so they could get the ball in his hands in multiple ways. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
