2023 Rankings: York County Zone Read (Offense)

The 2022 season was another outstanding year for York County area teams as most were able to make it into the playoffs. Here's a look at some of the highlights from the offensive side of the football in the final 2023 rankings.   Offensive Line [player_tooltip player_id='89343' first='Jordan' last='Knox'], Northwestern   Knox is one of the top offensive linemen in our rankings for a reason. During the 2022 season, we noticed multiple times where he kicked opposing defensive linemen out to make room for the running game or get to the second level and create blocks in the screen game. He signed with Northwestern University in December.    [player_tooltip player_id='202763' first='Ben' last='Acus'], Northwestern   Acus has a great first step with his right foot when the ball is snapped. He can get to the second level and block well and turn defensive linemen around to where they can't get to the ball. He has good speed to get out in front of screens at the center position.    [player_tooltip player_id='202764' first='Marcus' last='Macon'], Northwestern   Macon was not afraid to get his hands dirty during the 2022 season. We saw with his first clip how he detonated a defensive lineman and brought them right into the ground. He has good leg drive to be able to push opposing defensive linemen out.    Wide Receivers   [player_tooltip player_id='146372' first='Elijah' last='Caldwell'], Northwestern   <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2022/12/fab-50-breakdown-the-wide-receivers/">Check out our analysis of Caldwell's 2022 season</a> from the Fab 50 breakdown from back in December. Caldwell de-committed from West Virginia in December but has offers from NC State, Purdue and South Carolina.   [player_tooltip player_id='202769' first='Khyre' last='Rawlinson'], South Pointe   Rawlinson is one of the more underrated receivers in the area that no one knows a lot about. But he's a technician at the position. He has smooth hands, knowing he's going to take a hit and runs excellent routes to where the quarterback can get it to him.    [player_tooltip player_id='202755' first='Brandon' last='Raysor'], Catawba Ridge   Raysor (pictured above) is a dependable, outside receiver who can take a 5 to 10 yard curl route and get up field for some extra yards quickly. He has the ability to take the top off the defense, but his strength is in the quick passing game. He can also play some defensive back and anticipates what receivers will do, seeing that he plays the position.    Running Backs   [player_tooltip player_id='492672' first='Tyler' last='Jones'], Catawba Ridge   Jones is one of the more physical backs in the area as he's tough to bring down once he gets into open space. If you get in his way, he will run you over. The thing that is probably most impressive is he doesn't dance once he gets into space. The All-State back ran for 1130 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022.    [player_tooltip player_id='582109' first='Elijah' last='Farmer'], Clover   Farmer has a great combo of power and speed that makes him a great back to watch. Whether it is on zone plays to the outside or option pitches, he knows what to do when the ball is in his hands. He finished with 684 yards rushing and averaged 5.7 yards per carry on 67 carries.
