Below, we will dive into the newly ranked 2023 defensive lineman from across the region and who are names to note as we draw closer to the second and final national Signing Day.
The 2023 prospect checks in at 6’4″ 225, and is a well built kid with plus athleticism and pass rush abilities off the edge. He currently holds offers from Black Hills State, ASU and Drake. Arends is a no brainer FCS+ talent that has been severely under-recruited and it looks like he will be a big time steal for a college program and is one to watch as we near the second and final National Signing Day.
Lamaide is a high upside kid at the next level due to his length, range and raw abilities and cracks our newest 2023 PRZ rankings checking in as a top 20 defensive lineman at slot 18. Playing for one of the most respected teams in the country, he has elite athleticism, quick twitch off the ball and knows how to use his length to keep blockers off his chest and in pass rush situations/when batting down passes. Although still raw and developing, once he gets to the next level and continues to grow and develop, he will be a steal in college.
Adair can play multiple positions at the next level and shows position versatility and is a tough and physical kid. Although undersized, he is a quick twitched kid who gets off the ball quickly, is a natural bender and shows a quick use of hands at the POA when in pass rush situations. When collapsing the pocket, he flashes closing speed and is a strong tackler while able to get underneath blockers and win with leverage and strength at the POA. He is a D-III player that should get a shot at the next level as we near NSD.
Highlights
Roufus is a multi-offer kid that has been offered by Knox College, Arizona Christian and Central College and should be a high impact player at the NAIA and D-II level. He can play both inside or kick to SDE depending on the scheme, plays with heavy hands and immediately established the LOS with a strong punch and consistent lockout/violent shed. A high motor player that flows to the ball and excels in backside pursuit/block recognition, he remains one of the better unsigned prospects the region has to offer in the 2023 class.
