Utah's 3A All State: Defense

Take a look at the some of the defensive players that performed well this season in the 3A Class of Utah High School Football. It has been a pleasure to watch these players this season for Prep Redzones first year in the state of Utah.   Defensive line: Keagan Hall, Juab HS Jr.   Hall earns All State honors after recording 18 sacks and helping the Wasp make it to the 3A State Championship. Hall plays with good bend in a 2 or 3 pt stance and initial quickness to read and react at the LOS. Good use of hands as a pass rusher making quick contact and get upfield to the QB. Good pursuit to the ball from snap to whistle.   Defensive Line: Marc Richardson, Canyon View HS Jr.   Richardson is one of the top sack leaders in Utah's 3A Class. He plays with good bend in his stance and initial quickness to read and react at the LOS. Shows good strength to control blocks at the LOS and good pursuit to the ball from the snap to whistle. A sure tackler with explosion that make the hit at the LOS.   Defensive Line: Ashton White, Richfield HS Jr.   White plays good bend and burst in his stance. Good initial quickness to read and react at the LOS. Good use of hands as a pass rusher making quick contact and upfield to the QB. Good lateral pursuit to avoid run plays for big yards. Finished the season with 10 sacks.   Defensive Line: Braxton Shobe, Ogden HS   Shobe is an athletic player that plays with bend and burst in a 2 or 3pt stance. Good initial quickness to read and react at the LOS. Good use of hands as pass rusher making quick contact and get upfield. Shows good lateral pursuit to avoid run plays for big yards. A sure tackler with explosion making the hit at the LOS and the open field.   Linebacker: Dallin Sweat, Manti HS Jr.   Sweat is an athletic player that leads the 3A Class in tackles with 133. Plays with good awareness to read and react quickly. Good lateral quickness to move sideline to sideline. Good burst as a blitz rusher and a tackler with keen desire contact at the LOS and the open field.   Linebacker: Karver Mock, Canyon View HS   Mock is an athletic player that plays with good awareness to read and react quickly. Shows good strength to control and shed blocks to make the play. A sure tackler that can make the hit at the LOS and the open field. Finished the season with 73 tackles.   Linebacker: Lukifanga Kaumatule, Juan Diego Catholic HS Sr.   Kaumatule is an athletic player that plays with good awareness to read and react quickly. Stops inside runs by having a good knack for the football and uses his strength to control and shed blocks to make the play. A sure tackler with explosion that can make the hit at the LOS. Finished the season with 83 tackles and the Eagles 1,000 yard rusher.   Linebacker: Ty Wheeler, Morgan HS   Wheeler is a tough physical player and one of the tackling leaders in the 3A Class with 82 tackles. Has a good knack for the ball on inside runs and good lateral quickness to sideline to sideline. Shows good burst as a blitz rusher and a sure tackler that can make the sure hit at the LOS and the open field.   Defensive Back: Adam Wilson, Ogden HS Sr.   Defensive Back: Zach Nelson, Morgan HS Sr.   Defensive Back: Nick Macias, Canyon View HS Sr.   Honorable Mentions:   Linebacker: Jarron Ball, Morgan HS Sr.   Linebacker: [player_tooltip player_id='1100678' first='Lincoln' last='Rushton'], Canyon View HS Jr.   Defensive Line: Nathan Young, Richfield HS Jr.   Linebacker: Caysen Acord, Richfield HS Jr.   Defensive Line: Foa Maile, Grantsville HS Sr.   Linebacker: Siaosi Taufatofua, Richfield HS Sr.
