Super 7 wouldn’t be Super 7 without 2A, 4A, and 6A, because at that point it would be Super 4. Okay, jokes are over, but let’s talk about some serious talent coming into Jordan-Hare Stadium on December 2, 2022, for a day where dreams come true. For these players it is only up from here, these men has helped their team to success during the regular season and in hope to bring them more success to win a state championship. Some of these guys are labeled “Dawgs” just because of their fierce competitiveness on the field. So, I would like to highlight some top players for the 2A, 4A, and 6A state championships.
As I always say, let’s dive into some Alabama football.
Zack Carpenter
Zack Carpenter
Carpenter is a tough blocker in the ground game who possesses the ability to push defenders and create movement at the point of attack. He fires off the ball and has the strength to rock defenders backward and push them out of their gaps. Carpenter has an attitude and blocks through the whistle, looking to punish defenders. He has heavy hands and does a good job of sustaining blocks to prevent second attempts. In short-yardage and goal-line situations, Carpenter is an asset who can push defenders, turn them, and manipulate them with his strong upper body. Carpenter can overset sometimes, leaving him lunging and leading with his helmet, especially at the second level, and that causes him to get overextended. Overall, though, Carpenter should be a good contributor to his team during the championship.

Logan Anderson
Logan Anderson
Anderson’s natural running ability is exceptional. He has remarkable acceleration downfield and is incredibly swift to strike the hole. Anderson’s lightning-quick pace gives him a threat to score on any touch. He is capable of consistently producing lengthy touchdown runs. Anderson would frequently make a nice cut to avoid a tackler and then burst down the field for a game-changing play. His high speed, first-step burst, and quick acceleration are unrivaled. Anderson possesses excellent footwork and balance to go around opponents and stay on his feet when they make contact. Anderson’s muscular physique allows him to blast past tackles and bend at the knee to run under his pads. While Anderson’s pace and burst draw attention, he is also a strong runner who employs strength and power to run over opponents. With how he was able to take angles from defenders downfield, his awareness and instincts made him appear to have eyes in the back of his head at times.
Dorean Crittenden
Dorean Crittenden
Crittenden has a burst to the hole and a second gear in the open field to get the ball the distance. He possesses unusual acceleration and uses speed to steal angles away from defenders. Crittenden is a powerful back who can go past tackles and bulldoze players attempting to tackle him. Crittenden is difficult to stop on short yardage and at the goal line. He possesses an ideal balance of speed and power. Crittenden is elusive on the wide field, in addition to possessing a fantastic combination of size, power, and speed. He possesses great footwork, vision, patience, and balance. Crittenden combines all of these to spin away from opponents, weave around them, and cut through small holes to gain extra yards. Crittenden has an exceptional ability to sprint while bending at the knee, allowing him to go behind his pads and bounce off tacklers. Many backs his stature run to erect, but Crittenden is really adept at bending until he gets into the open field and cranks on the afterburners.

Jacob Carnejo
Jacob Carnejo
Carnejo’s build is appropriate for the collegiate level. He is difficult to tackle and gains yards after impact due to his strength, balance, and pad level. Carnejo has outstanding ball security and runs low to the ground. He is effective in short yardage and close to the goal line, and he has a nose for the end zone. Carnejo’s elusiveness allows him to create for himself, allowing him to bail out his blockers if they don’t have everything right. Carnejo is such a laid-back guy; every time I get to watch him, he puts up incredible statistics on the stat sheet. Everything about this guy excites me, and I can’t wait to see what he brings next.
Antonio coleman
Antonio coleman
Coleman is exceptionally quick off the snap, able to blast his gap and get on the quarterback in a hurry. Coleman can fly by blockers and win with a speed rush if he uses pure speed. He also possesses functional strength, allowing him to bull rush through blockers or grasp and fling them off. In addition to his exceptional skill set, Coleman demonstrates impressive technique with his hand placement and a range of pass-rushing movements, including speed rushes, bull rushes, swim moves, and more. He also possesses a powerful rip technique that he employs to gain leverage and knock blocks off balance. Coleman quickly throws the blockers off balance or totally sheds the block to dash down the pocket to the quarterback. Coleman also possesses a strong bull rush, and there have been times when he puts his blockers on roller skates and pushes them straight back into the quarterback.

Trent Wright
Trent Wright
Wright is an outstanding Spartan linebacker. Wright demonstrates a good ability to function in space, good instincts, and fluid athleticism to cover. Wright possesses the speed, athleticism, and length to cover the distance. Wright might eventually be useful in covering receiving tight ends and running backs out of the backfield. Wright is a competent defender on the ground. He has strong instincts, can read his keys, and is always around the ball. Wright uses his quickness to chase down backs and get to the ball swiftly. He is quick around the perimeter and an effective tackler in space. Wright excels at taking on offensive linemen’s blocks and shedding off to make tackles in the open field. Everything this kid does is valuable to his team, and because of him and great teammates, they’re playing in a big-time state championship. He’s a baseball player in all reality but a tremendous football player and could be a huge asset to any team if baseball doesn’t work out.
