Standouts
RB | Caleb Moore Caleb Moore 5'10" | RB Northville | 2024 MI | 5’10” 175 | 2024 | Northville
Moore looked the part, and for a while, he played the part. He passed the eye test more than any other RB as he’s lean, muscular, and toned. A nagging going injury kept him out later in the showcase, but you can’t discount good performances until that point. Looking at his film, it doesn’t seem he was the #1 back for Northville this past season but he has a great chance to increase his workload in 2023.
RB | Myles Moore Myles Moore 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Avondale | 2024 State MI | 5’11” 190 | 2024 | Avondale
Everyone was talking about Myles today, and he was the second-best RB that competed today. When I walked into the building, Myles was making sure to stretch and warm up when many others were standing around. In addition, he passes the eye test. He’s well-built, lean, and very athletic. During initial testing, Myles looked twitchy and fast. I’m excited to see how he tested.
During the one-on-one session, Myles performed exceptionally well. In the passing game, Myles looked twitchy and ran great routes. He was able to consistently win matchups against linebackers and catch darts thrown at him. Myles may have had the best hands of any running back today! In other drills, Myles looked equally as good. There were a few points where he tried to get a bit too fancy, but when he made a mistake, he made sure to do his push-ups. This is not the freshman that I coached in 2019. This is a dedicated athlete who should be a college prospect!
RB | Kellen Russell-Dixon Kellen Russell-Dixon 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2024 State MI | 5’10” 180 | 2024 | Grand Rapids Catholic Central
Russel-Dixon was the best running back today, and I’m not surprised one bit. The Catholic Central RB looked great in testing and dominated one-on-ones. I’m not sure what his exact testing numbers are, but I know they’ll be stellar. I was impressed by his lateral movement and his ability to change direction during that portion.
Okay, now for the meat of the showcase. Russell-Dixon consistently dominated the competition, and straight-up embarrassed some players on a few reps. He changes direction in a flash and is able to successfully juke and bull through once he catches the ball. I also know Kellen isn’t afraid of contact, as I watched him hit hard many times this season. It’s nice to see him performing at such a high level after a high-rep 13-game season.
RB | Elijah A. Jones Elijah A. Jones 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB East Kentwood | 2025 MI | 5’9″ 175 | 2025 | East Kentwood
When I asked coaches who was performing best, Jones’s name popped up. I watched him have a few great plays today. On a team that is very much up-and-coming, Jones could be an X-Factor. He was quick, and did great at finding a low center of gravity. He showed some promise in the pass game, and showed off great speed. If he had great testing numbers, then this is a true standout and a player to watch in the OK-Red.
