This list of five has three prospects that will be high school freshmen next year but certainly will be ones that have caught our eyes early as they become Prep Redzone Dakotas prospects this upcoming summer. The other two prospects might be the youngsters of the group, but there were a ton of positive skill sets that I saw that would develop over time and get them where they want to go once they enter our Dakotas high school ranks. Here is who I like in Part II in the 605 area code.
Brett Beek, Harrisburg, South Dakota (2027)
I was pretty impressed with Brett’s footwork when it came down to his change of direction. He showed off some great fluidity for his age when working in the early-late drills at the SD Elite 7v7 Tryout in Sioux Falls. He also shows off some good length for his age, and I am sure he will see plenty of growth in the coming years in the Harrisburg Tigers program.
Kale Fishel, Harrisburg, South Dakota (2027)
The persistence Kale carried during the early part of the morning session with his footwork struck a chord with his potential at his age. I also thought his catch radius for his age showed off plenty of upside for his football future. For his young age, Kale also developed balanced angles when getting up to catch that football. Looks like a player that would be an ideal pass-catcher at wide receiver with all those skillsets mentioned in mind.
Camden Star, WR, Harrisburg, South Dakota (2027) Twitter
The first skillset I saw out of Camden at last weekend’s SD Elite 7v7 tryout was the sizeable burst that popped out of his routes. This young man showed a significant-finish ability along with his route-running skills, a skillset I like to see from prospects like Camden, that have that giant accelerator out of the gates of their routes with continued high stamina throughout. This was one of the WR prospects on my list that I wish I had my head on a swivel more to watch his game take more shape as there is plenty of potentials yet to be seen from this Harrisburg prospect as he enters his HS football years in 2023.
Lincoln Michaeli, South Dakota (2029)
Another younger prospect I got a quick look at was Lincoln Michaeli, who showed some similar skillsets to others on this shortlist. I look for consistency when I evaluate these young bucks on their reps, and Lincoln showed a slew of consistency with his pass-catching ability, active footwork on his routes, and showing off a mild stretch with his radius of where he can catch the football from with length that will continue to be added over the next years. His balance also showed some promise to this scout’s eyes on Saturday afternoon.
Max Allie, LB/TE, Lennox, South Dakota (2029)
My notepad was loaded with notes on this young man, and although he’s one of the youngsters of the group, I believe the upside Max Allie of Lennox possesses shows off an excellent ceiling of what is to come in his football future. Max appeared to be a quick learner with his football IQ from what I gauged from the morning session into the afternoon in Sioux Falls. He showed off good ball skills for his age when I watched him in 1v1s from the linebacker spot as he also used that stouter frame of his to cut off wide receivers on their cuts with that size he showed off. From my eyes, Max projects to me as a two-way player at linebacker and tight end, as he also showed off on the other side of the ball on 1v1s how good his hands are for his young age. I am excited to track Eli’s development with the Lennox Orioles over the next several years.
