Continue ReadingThe early signing period is approaching rapidly, and it is time to get caught up on the recruiting news making headlines across the state of Arkansas. We have plenty of prospects that have made recruiting throughout the course of the week. The prospects making news this week come from several classes and will get us caught up on what has been a busy week of recruiting news in the state of Arkansas.
CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Bentonville | 2024 State AR -Athlete-Bentonville-2024
After hauling in 16 touchdown passes this season, CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Bentonville | 2024 State AR continues his impressive recruiting momentum. Brown has set the stage to be one of the most sought-after recruits in the class of 2024. Over the past few weeks, Brown has received scholarship offers from Louisville and Purdue. I expect his recruiting to continue to blow up over the next few months and his recruitment should be extremely interesting to watch. He has the potential to see plenty of playing time on Saturdays in the future.
Malachi Graham Malachi Graham 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Bryant | 2023 State AR -Defensive Back-Bryant-2023
Over the past three years, the Bryant secondary has been one of the most talented units in the state of Arkansas. Graham is one of those defensive backs that can play the cornerback or the safety positions with equal effectiveness. Over the weekend, Graham had the opportunity to commit to Central Arkansas after taking an official visit to the Conway campus. The Bryant defensive back is a prospect that I expect to see the field on Saturdays in the future.
Jason Sullivan Jason Sullivan 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Carlisle | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Carlisle-2023
One of the most productive running backs in the state of Arkansas has been hauling in the scholarship offers over the past few weeks. Sullivan racked up 45 touchdowns and 2,885 yards during the 2022 season. He has a second gear that can leave opposing defenders trailing behind him. Earlier in the week, Sullivan picked up a scholarship offer from McPherson College. The school that lands Sullivan gets a game changer at the running back position.
Justin Crutchmer Justin Crutchmer 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Lake Hamilton | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Lake Hamilton-2023
Crutchmer is one of the most versatile prospects in the class of 2023. Crutchmer has displayed that he can play the running back, wide receiver, and defensive back positions with equal effectiveness. Over the week, Crutchmer had the opportunity to take a visit to Oklahoma State University. Crutchmer received an offer to play for the Cowboys. He is a prospect that has the incredible versatility that scouts love and I look for him to earn playing time in the future.
Jabrae Shaw Jabrae Shaw 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Little Rock Mills | 2023 State AR -Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023
When Barry Odom took the head coaching job at UNLV it came as no surprise that he would recruit the Natural State hard. Jabrae Shaw Jabrae Shaw 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Little Rock Mills | 2023 State AR has caused plenty of headaches for the opposing team with his versatility over the past few years. Mills is able to do plenty of damage on both sides of the ball. Shaw can hurt you at the running back position or do plenty of damage lurking in the defensive secondary. Shaw took an official visit to Las Vegas over the weekend.
Donnie Cheers Donnie Cheers 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Marion | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Marion-2023
Donnie Cheers Donnie Cheers 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Marion | 2023 State AR has been a playmaker for the Patriots over the past few years. Cheers is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He is a prospect that does a great job of using his athletic ability to create separation to get open. Cheers placed his commitment to Southeast Missouri State earlier in the week. Congratulations go out to the talented Marion wide receiver.
