1.West Linn, OR (12-1) The scary thing about West Linn is how good they are going to be in the years to come. The Lions could win multiple state title’s in a row and earn a national ranking.
2.Sheldon, OR (12-1) Probably Oregon’s most successful program over the last two decades. The Irish beat West Linn in the season opener 35-31, before losing in the state title game 23-14.
3.Yelm, WA (14-0) Close wins over Bellevue and Eastside Catholic solidified Yelm as the top team in Washington. Kyler Ronquillo Kyler Ronquillo 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Yelm | 2023 State WA ‘s last second TD was maybe the play of the year nationwide.
4.Eastside Catholic, WA (12-1) Eastside beat O’Dea twice, and Kennedy Catholic, before losing the state title game in the final moments. Another great season from one of the top programs in the West.
5.Central Catholic, OR (10-2) The Rams will be the only team who have a chance to compete with West Linn next season. They had quality wins against Bellevue and Jesuit, but got smacked in the semi’s by West Linn 49-17.
6.Lake Stevens, WA (12-2) The 45-6 loss to West Linn in Week 4 helps put the rankings into perspective when comparing the Northwest’s top teams. Credit to the Vikings who won the 4A state title 24-22 over Kennedy Catholic.
7.Bellevue, WA (9-3) Traditional WA power Bellevue lost to 3A & 4A Washington state champs Yelm 28-27 and Lake Stevens 37-28. Also dropping their season opener to 2021 defending Oregon state Champs Central Catholic by a point. The Wolverines showed they could play with anyone.
8.Jesuit, OR (9-2) Jesuit lost an early contest to #1 West Linn 31-20, and then another heartbreaker to rival Central Catholic 23-20 in the playoffs. Much like Bellevue a few points separated them from the other top teams.
9.O’Dea, WA (10-2) O’Dea’s only two losses were to 3A state champion Eastside Catholic, both by a single TD. Their semifinal loss in double OT showed how even both teams were. The Fighting Irish will return as a state title favorite next season.
10.Tualatin, OR (9-3) The T-Wolves lost to the #1 and #2 teams on this list in respactable fashion. The program has just continued to get better with a host of talent returning next season.
