Highlights
It seems like every championship game breeds a new wide receiver who bursts onto the scene. Evan Brooks Evan Brooks 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Old Tappan | 2024 State NJ took that mantle in this game as he had big catches on the outside. He consistently used his 6’3 frame to make contested catches and made a spectacular catch for a touchdown to ice the game. Evan Brooks Evan Brooks 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Old Tappan | 2024 State NJ had his coming out party on the biggest stage.
Another young star who emerged from this game is Joel Anderson. As he showed that he can be a difference-maker on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
He specifically flashed at linebacker making a couple of athletic plays and impressive tackles. They also had him taking snaps at running back in their Wing T offense. Anderson will most likely be an important player for Delsea next year and will be one of their most impactful players.
Highlights
Its tough to talk about Delsea football without mentioning Adair, as he’s usually in the mix on offense for the Crusaders. It was no different in this game as he scored one of Delsea’s two touchdowns, as he displayed some impressive speed and burst, to get to the edge. Adair showed he’s by far Delsea’s most explosive player.
Caracciolo was on his way to a superb game as he went 7/9 for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns with one passing and one rushing. He looked like a senior quarterback playing with much poise and confidence.
Unfortunately, he suffered a leg injury that knocked him out of the game, but he was able to show his ability as a passer. Driving the ball with accuracy down the field, also showed his mobility. Picking up key first downs and scoring a touchdown. Tommie was key in getting this championship win.
Coming off the bench and showing up for your team when they need you most, showed some uncanny poise from Orecchio. He mainly handed the ball off and made throws when he had to.
He showed poise and great decision-making under pressure in a big game. Orecchio made the biggest play of the game giving wide receiver Evan Brooks Evan Brooks 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Old Tappan | 2024 State NJ a chance on a 50/50 ball ultimately that sealed the game.
The Old Tappan coach staff have to be excited by what they saw from their young quarterback. With this young man at the helm, Old Tappan has to feel good about their chances to repeat as champions.
