Jakobe Worthy
Jakobe Worthy
Worthy is a dominant secondary force who’s a certified playmaker. With next-level speed and skill, Worthy dominated as a ball hawk who roams the field with instinct and physicality while creating a no-fly zone in the deeper regions of the field. Worthy shows tremendous range and can cover a deep half of the field, flow sideline to sideline in the run game or run down plays outside of his assigned area. When he is near the ball, he displays the natural skill of catching the ball and doing something with it on his return. Worthy is also highly explosive on contact and can get downhill quickly. This enabled him to cause forced fumbles and incompletions when playing through the body of receivers. As a standout in one of the deepest position groups in the state, Worthy is undoubtedly a prospect who can be an impact player at a power five school.
Jailyn Davis
Jailyn Davis
Davis was a constant candidate as a weekly standout and proved himself to be one of the better prospects in his class. With consistent lockdown coverage in the zone and man-to-man coverage, Davis is a corner that can make plays no matter what scheme he’s in. With solid strength and technique, Davis can press at the line of scrimmage, disrupt timing and gain an instant advantage before the route begins. He also shows great positional awareness when covering regions of the field when squeezing receivers to the sideline, tracking the ball, or jumping off routes to pick the ball off. At the catch point, Davis is highly disruptive and always seems to find a way to affect the ball. He does a great job of tracking, high pointing, and playing through the hands. This makes him ultra-effective in the red zone and other 50/50 ball situations.
DJ Estes
DJ Estes
Estes is one of the most versatile defenders in the state. His ability to fluctuate through the secondary and outside linebacker makes him a chess piece that can survive and thrive in any system. With competitive toughness, high motor and high IQ, Estes can wreck an offense and flew around the field last season. As a roamer, Estes’s natural feel for the game allowed him to always be around the ball. When in coverage, he consistently baited QBs into bad decisions, jumped routes, and made plays on the ball. Estes also affected the pass as a rusher/ delayed Blitzer. His impeccable timing, short-distance burst, and closing speed generated a handful of sacks. Estes also proved to be an asset against the run. He consistently took great angles, made open-field tackles, and never backed down from larger ball carriers.
Xayvier Crenshaw
Xayvier Crenshaw
Crenshaw is all around corner that made plays throughout the season and played a key role in Saraland’s championship run. Crenshaw’s ability to lurk in zone coverage is highly impressive. While reading and reacting, Crenshaw shows great breaking speed and constantly beats receivers to the spot. This excellent timing translated to the catch point where he plays through the hands right when the ball arrives and causes incompletions. Though he primarily is reading the QB, Crenshaw showed flashes of lockdown man coverage due to his quick reaction time, swift feet, and solid long speed.
