There are a few guys that we can introduce yall to this year. We are going to start out with some skilled positions, and then go on to the trenches. Let’s check it out.
Xzarion Haynes Xzarion Haynes 5'9" | 150 lbs | RB Louisville | 2026 State MS , RB, Louisville
Haynes is going to be the next big star on Louisville’s offense. He can do a lot of different things well. Haynes needs to work on continuing to get faster and stronger. He got some playing time here and there this season. Next season is when the ball will be in his hands. He has great vision and knows how to see the field. Most people are amazed at how quick he can change directions. Haynes is new to the offseason process. He hasn’t been exposed to a lot of camps or combines. The more he gets his name out there the more he will see his stock rise.
KJ Cork, QB, Choctaw Co
Cork is a guy that didn’t have any other choice besides stepping up this year. He was named the starting quarterback from the beginning of the season. He was doing his all every game to make sure his team was battle ready. Cork doesn’t have the arm that makes you drop your jaws when he completes passes. He is just a gamer that knows how to keep his team in the right position to win. It is going to be very interesting to see how he grows. Cork is a very good athlete. Last night in their basketball game vs. Houston he drained a couple of threes. He also moves around pretty good on the court. It’s those attributes that show me he can easily find himself panning out to be a player that plays a skilled position in college.
Jase Matthews, WR, Greene County
Matthews is a guy that come on pretty strong for Greene County last season. He is a lanky kid that has a lot of athleticism. He is averaging more than ten points a game in basketball. This kid can leap and get off of his feet. I think those attributes are going to help him become a great receiver. If he can go into this off-season perfecting his routes he will be doing well. Soon as basketball season is done he needs to get with a good trainer to polish up his skills. He definitely has what it takes to play on the division one level. He has great hands and good speed. Matthews is a name to remember.
Jayce Taylor, ATH, Biggersville
Taylor is a very big boy who I am very excited to watch play over the next three years. He is an absolute stud in the backfield and on defense. That will be the question. Everybody isn’t quite sure what position he will play on the college level. I think that he is a future linebacker. He has a big frame with wide shoulders. He is aggressive and has good speed. Taylor is a guy that I think has a chance to play on the power five level in college. He is built up well and he understands the game. If Taylor can come out this off-season showing scouts what he can do then he will see his stock rise a lot.
Marcus Flowers, RB, Charleston
Flowers isn’t that big, but he has stepped up for Charleston this year. He had almost 900 yards rushing and over 10 touchdowns. He has a lot of speed, and can break plays open with ease. Flowers is definitely a guy that needs to be known. He has great vision with his speed that helps him break loose a lot.
