This is the most anticipated game of the Texas season more than even the state championship next weekend. The North Shore Mustangs are #2 in Texas and #8 in the nation vs The Austin Westlake Chaparrals are #4 in Texas and #9 in the nation. This means both teams are top 5 in Texas and the top 10 in the nation. This is the 1st time these two teams have faced off in almost two years. Westlake has been undefeated for three years with a 54-consecutive winning streak. Westlake has won three consecutive state championships and now they are facing last year's division I State Champs North Shore. The game started as a back & forth and Westlake getting a safety early on gained momentum. However, North Shore answered back by scoring two touchdowns. Westlake and North Shore athletes couldn't come out of this game unscathed. By the end of the game, 7 total athletes from North Shore and Westlake suffered from some form of injury or sprain. Both teams played the best football they could, but the final score of the game was 49-34 with North Shore advancing to the state finals and ending Westlake's winning streak. I will be covering Austin Westlake's offensive standouts.

#9 [player_tooltip player_id='60848' first='Jaden' last='Greathouse'] WR Sr 6'3 200 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='60848' first='Jaden' last='Greathouse'] is fast, tall, and quick all great traits from a wide receiver. Jaden used his speed to beat out North Shore's defenders and get open for passes. Jaden was good at taking tackles and staying on his feet. Jaden was also a great blocker if he got his hands on a defender they couldn't get past him or he would simply put them in the dirt. Jaden had a great game despite having a leg strain and having to be taken out of the game several times because of it. Jaden is also a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers but decided to commit to The University of Notre Dame. Jaden's stats was one rushing touchdown.

#10 Bryce Chambers Sr 6'1 200 lbs

Bryce Chambers filled in as the main wide receiver when [player_tooltip player_id='60848' first='Jaden' last='Greathouse'] was out. Bryce as a wide receiver has great game sense with even better speed. Even against North Shore's impeccable defensive secondary Bryce was able to maneuver around them to make plays. Bryce's speed and explosiveness were the most difficult for North Shore's defensive secondary to handle the whole game. Bryce's stats were 5 receptions with 105 receiving yards and one touchdown and a 2 pt conversion.

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='122030' first='Keaton' last='Kubecka'] WR Sr 6'3 200 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='122030' first='Keaton' last='Kubecka'] is a fast wide receiver and used his speed to beat out defenders and get open for passes. Keaton being 6'3 helped him over-tower defenders and catch high passes. Keaton's big frame also provided great support for his blocking ability. Keaton is also a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers but has decided to commit to Kansas University. Keaton's stats were 3 receptions with 70 receiving yards.

#14 Brett Skinner QB Jr 6'2 185 lbs

Brett Skinner is a great wide receiver that gave his wide receivers the best passes they could ask for. Brett was not only blessed for his height but having one of the best wide receiver cores in the state. All his receivers are over 6 feet tall and strong enough to tackle and keep moving. Brett was great at passing long distances and threw three miraculous passes that perfectly went through North Shore's secondary and made it perfectly into the wide receiver's hands. It was a great sight to witness Brett threading a needle multiple times. Brett's stats were 2 touchdown passes and rushed in one touchdown himself.
