The second session of the Minnesota Stock Up Showcase featured quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs. I focused on the receivers and defensive backs – especially during one-on-ones. With guys spread all over the Tonka Dome, I noticed solid plays from a ton of different guys, but either because I was not in the right place at the right time or I just happened to look right when I should have been looking left, I never caught multiple top plays from the same guy very often. Taking a bit of a different approach than Oliver's piece last week, here are some single-rep one-on-one observations from this Prep Red Zone observer.

[player_tooltip player_id='104984' first='Langdon' last='Nordgaard'] West Du Pere WR - A long athlete, Norgaard showed he has good feet to go with his length – getting separation from the defender by running a great route on a stop route.

[player_tooltip player_id='551380' first='Khalil' last='Toney'] Champlin Park DB – Toney got out of his backpedal exceptionally quickly and made a great break on the ball – forcing an incompletion. Then, he had great man-to-man coverage sticking with his man during the entire route. Finally, he undercut a route and deflected a ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='551343' first='Durant' last='Lara'] Litchfield WR – Lara left the defensive back grasping for air with a nice release off the line of scrimmage. His release – combined with good speed - got him some good separation.

[player_tooltip player_id='551374' first='Joe' last='Hoheisel'] Stillwater WR – Hoheisel showed strong hands and even better concentration when his defender made an excellent read, but Hoheisel secured the highly contested ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='343080' first='Owen' last='Egge'] St. Michael-Albertville WR – Egge showed two essential receiver skills on one great rep. He made a sharp cut to gain separation and then showed off his solid hands as the defensive back was able to close on a throw behind Egge, but the STMA receiver made the contested catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='544963' first='CAMAR' last='BLADES'] Park Center WR – As he was obviously interfered with, in a real game, Blades' coach would have declined the penalty because, despite being held, he made the contested catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='362277' first='Justin' last='(Jj) Schrot'] Faribault WR – With a defender all over him, Schrot used his length and ability to catch with his hands to hold off the defender and keep the ball away from the defender.
