Miami Central Finishes On Top

From the first game of the season, first year head coach Jube Joseph and his Miami Central Rockets were the talk of the nation.
Beating national powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton paved the way for this team to stay on top and win a fourth consecutive state title.
Sharing a national title with California’s John Bosco Prep, who had lost once and took home the title in one poll, this team continued to impress and answer the bell every week.
They are the 2022 Prep Redzone state champions and will look forward to a record fifth straight title in 2023.

5. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (1M, 13-1). Ended as 1M state champions. LAST WEEK: The Lions saw their unbeaten streak come to an end with a Geico Bowl post season contest against national power Las Vegas Bishop Gorman,
6. Miami Christopher Columbus (4M, 14-1). Finished as 4M state champions. LAST WEEK: Won an amazing and thrilling 4M overtime game against No. 10 Apopka, 16-13.
7. Lake Wales (3S, 15-0). Won a first ever state title in 3S. LAST WEEK: Beat No. 13 Daytona Beach Mainland in a thrilling 32-30 decision.
8. Cocoa (2S, 11-3). Ended as the 2S state champions.
9. Plantation American Heritage (2M, 13-2). Season is over. LAST WEEK: Finished second in the competitive 2M class. LAST WEEK: Dropped a 38-31 decision to No. 1 Miami Central.
10. Apopka (4M, 11-4). Ended as 4M state runner up. LAST WEEK: Lost a thrilling 16-13 overtime decision to No. 6 Miami Christopher Columbus.
11. Venice (4S, 9-4). Finished at 4S runner up after a challenging season. LAST WEEK: Lost to No. 4 Lakeland in the title game, 21-14.
12. Hawthorne (1R, 12-0). LAST WEEK: The Hornets cruised to a 13-2 state title win against No. 18 Bratt Northview.
13. Daytona Beach Mainland (3S, 10-4). Finished as state 3S runner up. LAST WEEK: Dropped a contest to unbeaten and No. 7 Lake Wales, 32-30.
14. Homestead (3M, 11-3). Ended as the state 3M runner up. LAST WEEK: Battled down to the end in the title game, losing to powerhouse No. 2 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, 38-21.
