2024 5'11 175 RB - Da'Jaun Riggs - St. John's

Da'Jaun Riggs was unanimously selected as a 1st Team All-WCAC running back in 2022, and he achieved that honor on his way to conquering a second WCAC championship as well. Riggs led the St. John's offense out of the backfield all season long, and his dominant play was integral to the Cadets securing the WCAC title. Da'Jaun Riggs is one of the most elusive and shifty running backs that I have ever watched at the high school level, and, combined with his quickness, he's nearly impossible to tackle with the ball in his hands. Riggs has offers from power five conference schools such as Oregon, Pitt, Ole Miss, USF, and others. There's no doubt in my mind that the standout Junior running back will continue to receive elite D1 offers, and he most certainly deserves them after such a fantastic season. Da'Jaun Riggs is absolutely one of the elite overall running backs in the state of Maryland's 2024 class, and he should be recruited very seriously at the next level because he is a game changer for any program.

2024 6'0 185 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'] - Good Counsel

During the regular season there wasn't a high school running back in the nation more dominant than [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones']. The Good Counsel running back absolutely lit up opposing defenses all season long, and he dominated the WCAC in every single way. Jones ran for over 800 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, and he, without a doubt, put up the most dominant numbers of the WCAC regular season. Jones averaged about 9 yards per carry this Fall which is absolutely unheard of, and he deserves some kind of award for that average because it's completely jaw-dropping. Everything about [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones']' season this year was beyond impressive, and it's going to be nearly impossible for the Junior phenom to top his 2022 performance. That being said, if anyone can beat his own records it's [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'], and there's no question that he will be Good Counsel's primary ball carrier yet again for his Senior campaign in the Fall of 2023. Jones already has offers from schools such as Michigan, Penn State, and Rutgers, but if you're a high school football scout looking for an elite running back then look no further than Good Counsel's [player_tooltip player_id='249102' first='Dilin' last='Jones'].

2023 5'11 185 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] - DeMatha

[player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] was the top performing player overall from the WCAC playoffs this season. While his DeMatha squad came up just short of the gold, [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] still delivered a highlight reel season which ignited during the Stags' championship playoff run. Wyatt scored multiple touchdowns per game a handful of times during DeMatha's playoff push, and he ran the ball with such force that he simply couldn't be stopped in the open field. [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] led the charge for the Stags out of the backfield, and that's even more impressive considering the presence of [player_tooltip player_id='371280' first='Tovani' last='Mizell'], Georgia commit, and Bud Coombs as well. DeMatha's backfield was as talented and deep a backfield as there is at the high school level, and [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] was the shining star of that backfield in 2022. The Senior running back has offers from schools such as Merrimack and UNC Charlotte, and there will certainly be more to come after such a phenomenal season. [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] absolutely belongs at the next level, and he will make an extremely positive impact wherever he chooses to commit.

2023 6'2 190 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='477672' first='Asa' last='Gregg'] - St. John's

[player_tooltip player_id='477672' first='Asa' last='Gregg'] made the catch of the year in Maryland this Fall, and he did so on the way to back to back title victories for his squad- the St. John's Cadets. Gregg caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Myles Slade in the WCAC title game, and he made a phenomenal one on one play on the ball to give STJ the 7-3 lead late in the 4th quarter. The catch was as clutch of a play that can be made on any level and in any sport, and [player_tooltip player_id='477672' first='Asa' last='Gregg'] deserves a ton of credit for his focus, poise, and execution in such a high stress and important moment. Gregg truly captured the moment in every way, and, his play will go down in state championship history as one of the all-time clutch plays ever. Gregg's championship catch was the cherry on top of an incredible Senior season for him, and his efforts this year will give him opportunities at the next level without question. [player_tooltip player_id='477672' first='Asa' last='Gregg'] is a spectacular young talent with huge upside, and scouts should absolutely recruit [player_tooltip player_id='477672' first='Asa' last='Gregg'] with the utmost seriousness. Gregg has offers already from schools such as Buffalo, Brown, and Lafayette.

2023 6'1 185 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='247536' first='Sean' last='Williams'] - St. John's - Maryland

[player_tooltip player_id='247536' first='Sean' last='Williams'] truly was the backbone for the St. John's receiving corps this season. He was the go-to pass catcher for the Cadets on 3rd down conversion opportunities, and he averaged almost 15 yards per reception which led the team. Williams earned more than 600 receiving yards in 2022, along with 5 touchdown scores, and he definitely proved that he is the most consistent receiver for the Cadets. Terps nation should be ecstatic with [player_tooltip player_id='247536' first='Sean' last='Williams']' commitment, because this means that Maryland now has two of the top receivers in the state committed to them. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='247377' first='Ryan' last='Manning'] from St. Frances Academy also committed to Maryland, so it's clear that the future of Maryland pass catchers is as bright as it has been since they committed Stefon Diggs. The wide receiver tandem of [player_tooltip player_id='247536' first='Sean' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='247377' first='Ryan' last='Manning'] should already terrify BIG10 defenses, and I have zero doubt that [player_tooltip player_id='247536' first='Sean' last='Williams'] will make an extremely positive impact on Maryland's program immediately both on and off the field. He's a phenomenal all-around player with a bright future.
