Tyler Curry- Newsome High
6’0 200lbs
Curry was a breakout player this season for Newsome High that led to him being selected 1st team All-Conference this season. He led the team with 82 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He will be a good pickup for teams looking to add a linebacker to their class.
Strengths:
- Very physical downhill linebacker
- Shows good range
- Relentless in pursuit/Chases plays all over the field
Mekhi Thomas- Bloomingdale High
5’11 190lbs
Thomas is a versatile player that was a bright spot for Bloomingdale this season. He had one catch that went 75 yards for a touchdown, and on the defensive side of the ball is where he really made his mark registering 62 tackles, two tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and a force fumble. He was voted first team All-Conference. Thomas picked up his first offer from North Park University this month.
Strengths:
- Versatility to play multiple positions at the next level
- Short area acceleration
- Can smoothly change directions
Al’vondre Lewis- Sumner High
5’11 215lbs
Lewis was a big part of a stout defense for the Sumner Stingrays that helped them finish 8-3 and clinch a playoff berth this season. Lewis finished the season with 58 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and a fumble recovery. He’s a very good student with a 3.5 GPA. Coaches check him out.
Strengths:
- Sideline to sideline range
- Capable closing speed
- Good play strength that allows him to take on blockers
Jacob Reed- Durant High
5’10 200lbs
Reed is one of the more underrated linebackers in the Tampa Bay area. He’s produced over several seasons and is a player that could definitely play at the next level. He’s a first team All-Conference selection and finished the season with 71 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble and a blocked punt. He picked up an offer from Ottawa University this month.
Strengths:
- Attacks the hole
- Smart (3.82 GPA)
- Good feet to flow through traffic
