Bryant went through the regular season undefeated and ripped through the postseason play as they racked up the fifth state championship in a row. The dynasty the Hornets have built is not just impressive it is a historic run, with the potential to continue. We are going to look at the key contributors to the 2022 season as well as give an early look ahead to the 2023 football season.
2022 Key Contributors
TJ Lindsey TJ Lindsey 6'5" | 260 lbs | DL Bryant | 2024 FL -Defensive Line-2024
The Bryant defense locked opposing offenses down all season and dominated through the state playoffs. Lindsey has the ability to take over games on the defensive side of the ball. With Lindsey holding scholarship offers from schools like Notre Dame, Arkansas, and Georgia; he has the opportunity to dominate the 2023 season. From the pass rushing perspective he has the ability to disrupt opposing quarterbacks. He had a dominate season in 2022 and I look for the same to continue in 2023.
Mytorian Singleton Mytorian Singleton 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Bryant | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-2024
Mytorian Singleton Mytorian Singleton 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Bryant | 2024 State AR is one prospect that has been extremely consistent for the Bryant Hornets over the past two years. Singleton has the ability to play the slot receiver or the outside receiver position with equal effectiveness. He does a great job of creating separation using his speed and smooth route ability that he has. Singleton is going to be a prospect to keep an eye over the next few months. He has the talent to be an impact player on Saturdays in the future.
Drake Fowler Drake Fowler 6'2" | 160 lbs | DB Bryant | 2024 State AR -Defensive Back-2024
The Bryant defense from the defensive line to the secondary is one of the most talented units in the state of Arkansas. Fowler patrols the Bryant secondary as a safety and plays the opposing receiver in physical fashion. He has the hands to take an errant pass the opposite direction for a touchdown. Fowler and his teammates in the secondary made life miserable for opposing quarterbacks this season. Fowler is a prospect to watch out for next season and one I fully expect to see play on Saturdays in the future.
Jordan Walker Jordan Walker 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Bryant | 2025 State AR -Quarterback-2025
Bryant signal caller Jordan Walker Jordan Walker 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Bryant | 2025 State AR is another prospect to watch out for over the next couple of years. He has the arm strength to stretch the field vertically. Meanwhile, he continues to improve his accuracy and can fit the ball into some tight windows. Walker’s mobility makes for tough quarterback for opposing defenses to prepare against. He is not afraid to get out of the pocket and use his legs to pick up first downs. Walker is a prospect to pay attention to over the next few seasons.
Looking Ahead to the 2023 Season.
Bryant has plenty of talented pieces coming back for the 2023 football season. The possibility exists for the Hornets to make another run for a state championship in 2023. With players like TJ Lindsey TJ Lindsey 6'5" | 260 lbs | DL Bryant | 2024 FL , Jordan Walker Jordan Walker 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Bryant | 2025 State AR , Drake Fowler Drake Fowler 6'2" | 160 lbs | DB Bryant | 2024 State AR , and Mytorian Singleton Mytorian Singleton 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Bryant | 2024 State AR this team has plenty of talent to make a run. Look for Bryant to make another deep playoff run and possibly win a sixth-straight championship in 2023.
