It is finally here!! The communization of the entire high school football season is the state championships. In Texas, all of the state games are held in one place The AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. One of the best Stadiums in the whole country and there we get to witness the results of all these young men's hard work. The game I will be covering is The Desoto Eagles vs Austin Vandegrift Vipers. In the 1st quarter, neither team could score or get any kind of advantage over another. However, in the 2nd quarter, Desoto started to overwhelm Vandegrift and they kept on scoring touchdowns rapidly. Vandegrift was able to fight back and started to score touchdowns as well, but they could not catch up in time. The final score of the game was 17-42 with The Desoto Eagles becoming The 2022 6A Division II State Champions. Both teams fought extremely hard in this article I'll be breaking down Desoto Eagles' offensive standouts.

#1 [player_tooltip player_id='60859' first='Johntay' last='Cook II'] WR Sr 6'0 170 lbs

Johntay Cook is one of the best high school wide receivers I have ever seen. Johntay is ranked #6 in all of Texas and the #1 wide receiver in all of Texas. Johntay is extremely fast nobody on Austin Vandegrift's defense could cover him or barely tackle him. Johntay one play caught a short pass and ran on the edge flying past four defenders to the end zone for a touchdown. Johntay being a highly ranked athlete is a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers but has committed to The University of Texas to continue his football career. Johntay's last game stats were 5 receptions for 170 receiving yards and a 55-yard touchdown.

#5 [player_tooltip player_id='131822' first='Tre' last='Wisner'] RB Sr 6'0 170 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='131822' first='Tre' last='Wisner'] is a fast and strong running back and wide receiver. Tre just started playing for Desoto this season transferring from Waco Connally. Tre is a great addition to Desoto's offense being a threat at either position. While running the ball Tre was always able to average 10 yards and as a wide receiver, he used his speed to get open for passes. Tre being a double threat was the main factor in Desoto becoming state champions. Tre is a top college prospect having numerous college and university offers, but just like his teammate Johntay has committed to The University of Texas to continue his football career. Tee's stats as a running back were 6 carries for 80 rushing yards and as a wide receiver 6 receptions with 100 receiving yards having 180 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.

#15 Darius Bailey QB Jr 5'11 175 lbs

Darius Bailey is an athlete I was looking forward to watching ever since I saw his game against Denton Guyer. Even though Guyer's quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='131814' first='Jackson' last='Arnold'] is ranked #1 in all of Texas Darius is as good as Jackson or even better. Darius is quick and fast he is mobile enough to avoid any tackle. Darius' main strength is his passing skills he has a powerful arm with accuracy to boot and throughout the whole season, he has only thrown three interceptions. Darius is a stellar quarterback and with him leading his team to a state title and the school's 2nd ever Darius will be a top athlete to look out for in his senior year. Darius' stats were 16/20 passes completed with 320 passing yards and threw 3 touchdown passes.

#22 Deondrae Riden Jr RB So 5'11 180 lbs

Deondrae Riden is an electric running back and a massive threat every time he gets the ball in his hands. Deondrae was named offensive MVP for a reason he is fast, quick, and powerful what more do you want from your running back? Even when he isn't running the block Deondrae is a great blocker taking two defenders out of the play and allowing [player_tooltip player_id='131822' first='Tre' last='Wisner'] to rush for 50 yards. Deondrae is the backbone of Desoto and will become more of a promising athlete in the next two years. Deondrae's stats were 33 carries with 185 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
