Highlights
Burnette is a running back with a rare blend of size, athleticism, and durability to carry an offense. With a 200+ pound frame, Burnette shows fluidity in his lateral movement and can gain steam quickly when approaching the second level. This momentum and his natural strength make him a nightmare to tackle. With an elite contact balance and lower body strength, he churns out yards despite hits and has a bully mindset when mulling over defenders. When Burnette isn’t gaining yards after contact, he’s cutting upfield and showing his sub-4.5 speed to finish runs in the endzone. This overall skillset makes him one of the better running backs in the nation and a player capable of carrying an offense
Riley is an extremely explosive playmaker who makes video game-like runs on a routine basis. He’s tremendously explosive out of his cuts with extreme lateral quickness and maintains top speed out of his cuts – which is rare for college athletes, let alone high school players. As a super twitchy ball handler Riley also displays excellent vision when cutting off blockers, exploiting cutback lanes, and anticipating gaps both behind the line of scrimmage and on the open field. With some of the most exciting films in the country, Riley also flashed the ability to finish runs physically and flat out ran guys over when needed. This dynamic skill set makes him one of the most electrifying backs in the nation and a prospect who could emerge as a blue-chipper.
Burke is a scat back who thrives on the perimeter and playing in space. His instantaneous burst allows him to break off 40+ yard chunk plays and carve up defenses. When shooting through gaps Burke uses his agility to evade defenders with ease and has a lot of carries where he isn’t touched until he’s celebrating in the endzone. This elusiveness, coupled with his track star speed, allows him to make something from nothing and exploit defenses who lack gap integrity as a legit home run threat. In addition to Burke’s skill as a traditional back, he can line up as a receiver and give out crazy work to mismatched safeties and linebackers. He shows nuance when running routes for a running back and can make acrobatic catches – making him one of the state’s best all-purpose backs.
Johnson is an elite one-cut back that only needs a sliver of space to make a play. He has superb vision and a knack for letting blocks develop and running to open spaces. Johnsons shows excellent short-distance bursts within these crowded spaces and can make guys miss congested areas. This natural wiggle creates hidden yardage and turns routine 4-yard runs into 20-yard gains. With shiftiness in the open field, Johnson also has tremendous contact balance and can gain yards despite being hit. Though he isn’t a bruiser, Johnson can absorb hits and falls forward on most of his carries.
Frost is a running back that reminds me of the Punisher. His physicality at the point of attack and determination to get every yard available makes him a top-tier back in his class. With a stallion-like build, he’s an automatic threat to shred arm tackles, maintain balance through contact, and can carry tacklers for a ride. Frost punches well above his listed frame and thrives on finishing runs with purpose. His tenacity inside the tackle leads to surge through gang tackles, finding extra yards through crowds, and converting in short-distance situations. Though Frost is an enforcer, he has just enough speed to take one to the house if he clears the second level and can finish off runs in the endzone.
