2023 Running Backs December Update

The 2023 running back position group in the state of Arkansas was one of the deepest positions in the state. Arkansas always produces talented running backs, and this season was not any different in terms of the talent produced. We are going to look at a few running backs you know as well as a few that have been flying under the radar.   [player_tooltip player_id='224937' first='Connor' last='Baker']-Athlete-Pocahontas-6'0” 205-Pounds   To say that [player_tooltip player_id='224937' first='Connor' last='Baker'] had a tremendous season in 2022 is an understatement. During the 2022 season, Baker rushed for 2.097 yards and 35 touchdowns. He does a great job of making opposing defenders miss when he gets into the open field. What sticks out about Baker is that the young man runs angry. Baker has the ability to run people over or simply make a cut and take the ball down the sideline. Baker's recruitment is interesting because he has the ability to find the field at numerous positions.   [player_tooltip player_id='91987' first='Cedric' last='Hawkins']-Running Back-Stuttgart-5'9” 175-Pounds   Over the past three years, [player_tooltip player_id='91987' first='Cedric' last='Hawkins'] has been one of the most productive running backs in the state of Arkansas. Hawkins does an impressive job of allowing the rushing lane to develop. The more he runs the football the stronger he gets during games. Hawkins has the speed to cause plenty of problems for opposing defenses. Hawkins committed to Arkansas State, and he is a prospect that Red Wolves' fans are going to enjoy watching over the next few years. He has plenty of big play potential to watch for on the field.   [player_tooltip player_id='122981' first='Eli' last='Masingale']-Running Back-Ozark-5'11” 195-Pounds   Have had the opportunity to watch [player_tooltip player_id='122981' first='Eli' last='Masingale'] in several games the past few years. He is an intelligent running back that does a great job of picking his rushing lanes. Masingale is another running back that is difficult to bring down. He has the ability to make a cut and cause the defender to hit nothing but air. Masingale signed with Arkansas Tech recently and he will be a prospect to watch out for in Russellville over the next couple of seasons.   [player_tooltip player_id='161340' first='Jason' last='Sullivan']-Running Back-Carlisle-5'10” 205-Pounds   The Hendrix College football commit had an extremely impressive 2022 football season. Sullivan rushed for 2,885 yards and punched the ball in the end zone 45 times last season. He is a running back that is a nightmare to bring down when he gets into the open field. Sullivan is a running back that just gets better as the game progresses. He is a running back that can also catch the football and is just a headache for opposing defenses to attempt to contain. It will be great to see him continue his football career at the next level.   [player_tooltip player_id='135689' first='Carson' last='Morgan']-Running Back-Bentonville West-6'1” 180-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='135689' first='Carson' last='Morgan'] has been one of the most versatile running backs in the class of 2023. The Bentonville West coaching staff have done an excellent job of lining up Morgan all over the field. Morgan has proven to be a back that can catch the ball out of the backfield or be split out wide to catch the ball. He has the strength to run it between the tackles or cut the ball outside. Mogan's versatility is going to make him a valuable asset at the next level and he is a prospect to watch out for to see where he signs.
