North Shore is ranked #1 in both Houston and Texas while Atascocita is ranked #3 in Houston and #7 in Texas. North Shore and Atascocita have been dominating throughout the whole season no other team would be any competition for them. However, from the start, both teams would have to play at their best to gain the advantage. The game was intense each team barely getting over the other by the 2nd half the score was 3-7 with The Atascocita Eagles leading. This was the 1st time all season that North Shore was behind during halftime. The game continued to heat up during the 2nd half Atascocita started with a big kickoff return which later resulted in a touchdown. North Shore with their backs against the wall was able to apply enough pressure on both offense and defense to score two touchdowns in the 2nd half. This led to a final score of 16-13 with The North Shore Mustangs remaining undefeated. In this article, I’ll be discussing The North Shore Mustangs’ defensive standouts.
#5 Jacoby Davis Jacoby Davis 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB North Shore | 2023 State TX CB Sr 5’11 175 lbs
North Shore has an impressive defensive back core, especially with Jacoby Davis Jacoby Davis 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB North Shore | 2023 State TX . There are a lot of traits that Jacoby has, but one thing that standouts about him are that he is a phenomenal athlete. Jacoby was always on his man allowing no separation between them. Jacoby was a huge problem by not allowing any passes to come through to his opposing wide receiver. I noticed Jacoby last year and he has only improved since then and is one of the top DBS in Houston. I’m not the only that noticed Jacoby’s talent he has a lot of college and university offers as a top prospect. Jacoby has college offers from; Auburn University, the University of Michigan, Mississippi State University, Baylor University, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and the University of Houston to name a few of them.
#17 Paul Porter FS Jr
Paul Porter is an aggressive free safety. Paul was always willing to get in the 1st hit even being in the back as a safety. On some plays, Paul would move up to blitz to rush the quarterback or get a quick hit on the running back. Paul’s standout play was in the middle of the 2nd quarter when he laid out Atascocita’s punter with a game-stopping hit. I’m not exaggerating they replayed that hit 5x on the Jumbotron.
#6 Devin Sanchez Devin Sanchez 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB North Shore | 2025 State TX CB So 6’2 180 lbs
It is extremely rare to see such a tall and long limbs cornerback like Devin Sanchez Devin Sanchez 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB North Shore | 2025 State TX . Devin is incredibly quick and fast providing a no-fly zone not allowing any passes to come through to any of Atascocita’s wide receivers. Devin in his sophomore year is already a 5-star athlete overwhelming every wide receiver he has faced. When I interviewed Devin he told me “I went to North Shore because they fit my play style of defense and man coverage.” Devin felt extremely excited about his game-winning interception and 1st interception of the season. Devin is a 5-star athlete os a top college prospect catching the attention of numerous amount of colleges and universities from; the University of Texas San Antonio, the University of Southern California, the University of Alabama, Michigan State University, The University of Oklahoma, and the University of Texas to name a few.
