Zack Wright-LB Vincent
This season, Zack Wright emerged as Vincent’s heart and soul on defense, he had a ridiculously productive senior season that led to him constantly wreaking havoc all over the field. On the season, Vincent has recorded an absurd 163 total tackles (124 solo, 16 for loss), dominating opposing offenses all year. Having over 100 solo tackles is an incredible feat, and Wright has managed to do it with ease- his ability to locate, pursue, and take down the ball carrier is second to none. Wright was terrific this fall, putting together a senior season to remember!
Jon Welch-LB Sipsey Valley
Jon Welch had a breakout junior season this fall for Sipsey Valley, he’s been putting up some massive numbers all year long on defense. On the season, Welch has recorded 159 total tackles (80 solo, 14 for loss), producing all over the field. Welch is a really instinctual linebacker, he has great play recognition and consistently puts himself in a good position to make plays on the ball. Welch really progressed a ton throughout his junior season and will definitely be a player to watch next fall!
Zeke Carwile-LB Westminster Christian
Zeke Carwile is another junior LB that’s really broken through this season, and Westminster Christian has benefited massively from his play, especially when it comes to his tackling. On the season, Carwile has recorded 159 total tackles (98 solo, 5 for loss), he flew around the field with ease this year, making play after play. Carwile has some really solid lateral quickness that he uses to his advantage along with his pursuit to really just wreak havoc against the run. Carwile was a really exciting p[layer to watch this tear, we’re going to have to keep track of him for his senior season!
Malachi Jones-LB Sparkman
Malachi Jones continued his dominant run as the leader of Sparkman’s defense this fall, he was all over the field, making tackles all around the secondary and behind the line of scrimmage. In his senior season, Jones has recorded 158 total tackles (43 solo, 20 for loss)- game-wrecking opposing offenses all throughout the year. Jones is a really versatile linebacker with his plug-and-play ability, he can be placed outside and inside and equally make an impact at both positions- and with his tackling ability, he’s definitely not a player you want to line up against.
Malachi Allgood-LB Thornsby
Malachi Allgood had a breakout season this fall for Thornsby, he was a dominant force at LB and emerged as one of the leaders of their defense. On the season, Allgood recorded 158 total tackles (31 solo, 13 for loss), consistently making an impact on the defensive side of the ball. Allgood is quick, can get around blockers with ease, and is a strong tackler in the open field. Allgood has been making a ton of strides, it’ll be exciting to continue watching him ball out next fall.
