Lincoln handed Madison their only loss of the season in the Western League championship two weeks ago, 24-12. These two teams played each other in the D-I playoffs last season with Lincoln coming out on top, 42-14.
Highlights
PrepRedzone’s #1 RB in CA just committed to Georgia in early October. Lincoln’s star RB has totaled over 1,800 rushing yards and 27 TDs on 148 carries as a senior. He’s a complete, polished back with an elite combination of size (6’1”/225) and natural athleticism. He’s a physical runner between the tackles that runs with speed and power in space. He’s extremely difficult to tackle in the open field and runs through tacklers with balance and leg drive through contact. Robinson totaled 135 yards and 3 TDs in last season’s R1 playoff win over Madison.
Lincoln’s secondary is loaded with D-I talent across the board including Cox, Hunter Wiggins Hunter Wiggins 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Lincoln | 2023 State CA , and Christopher White. Cox is a versatile player in the secondary that can make plays at S and CB. He’s a strong, physical tackler in space and a ball-hawk in coverage that can read QB eyes and anticipate throws. He’s an instinctive player with the ball-skills and athleticism to produce explosive plays in the secondary. Cox holds offers from multiple Pac-12 and Mountain West schools including Colorado, Arizona, Washington St., Fresno St., and SDSU.
Highlights
The junior LB is the leading tackler for a strong Madison defense that’s giving up less than 10 PPG this season. He’s extremely physical and active from his ILB spot with 62 solo tackles and 24 TFLs through 10 games. He’s disruptive in the run game and flashes athleticism and instincts dropping into middle zone. Tivao’s one of the top LBs in San Diego with offers from Colorado and Arizona. He should continue to draw more D-I interest in the offseason.
Reggie Johnson
Reggie Johnson
Madison returned their starting QB, leading rusher Tyson Bryant, and leading WR Jake Jackson Jake Jackson 6'5" | 185 lbs | WR Madison | 2023 State CA from last season’s 9-3 team. Johnson’s a productive passer that excels at pushing the downfield with accuracy and producing explosive plays in the passing game. He navigates the pocket well and shows discipline keeping his eyes downfield when scrambling. He shows mobility escaping pressure and can put the ball on his receivers when on the run. Johnson’s recorded over 1,700 passing yards and 16 TDs/3 INTs this season.
Rodriguez, one of the top OL in San Diego, committed to hometown SDSU on 10/27. He’s a physical LT that can open lanes in the run game and provide time in the pocket for Johnson. He shows athleticism working up to the second level and picking up blocks in space on screens. Madison’s OL will have to contain a talented Lincoln front-seven that features multiple D-I prospects.
