College Coaches, if you are in the market for a speedy WR and a skilled TE I know of a couple 2024 prospects that will perform well at the combine event this week in Council Bluffs and should be on your recruiting radar!
2024 Bishop Heelan Crusaders Kannon Bork Kannon Bork 6'2" | 215 lbs | TE Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2024 State IA 6-2 (215) TE/DE is excited to participate in the IA/NE Showcase this coming weekend. “I am looking forward to competing with myself on individual testing and the one on one portion of the showcase running routes against some really talented cornerbacks,” stated Bork. Bork’s junior season consisted of (19) receptions for (183) yards but was the coming out party for the athletic TE prospect as he was flexed out to establish miss-matches in the defensive secondary and also was used as an inline blocker in the run game. “I really learned the technicality of play calling this past season and have become a film junkie now to improve my game. My knowledge grew this past season with identifying different defensive coverages and understanding why were attacking the way we were offensively,” stated Bork. The Crusaders have a loaded junior class returning next fall as seniors and they will be a team to keep an eye on in 2023. Bork is drawing current interest from Wayne State College, Drake University and University of North Dakota.
2024 Lawton-Bronson Eagles Caleb Garnand 6-0 (170) speedy WR/S is coming off an incredible junior season where he established school records of (62) receptions good for (714) yards and (7) touchdowns. “I was able to take a game day visit this fall to Wayne State College and enjoyed my time there. I am excited about this showcase event this weekend because I want to see how I measure up against other talented athletes,” stated Garnand. It was at a spring Prep RedZone Event last year where Garnand popped off a (4.54) 40-yd dash time and he is looking to follow that up with another solid effort on individual scoring. “I am excited to run routes against some top notch talent and see how I perform. I know I have work to put in this off-season in the weight-room and gaining good weight will be a focus of mine,” concluded Garnand. The Eagles have a large nucleus of juniors who return this fall and are looking to reach post season play in 2023. Garnand will be running track once again this spring where he was part of a 2022 state champion Sprint Relay team as a sophomore. Garnand is currently receiving interest and inquiries from Wayne State College, couple Mountain West schools and involvement with Conference USA school as well.
