Region Finals Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you follow what we do throughout the year, you already know that our priority if promoting and showcasing the athletes here in the Sunshine State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With that in mind, every Monday during the entire season, we bring you some of the top performers for that week, so that fans, college coaches and recruiters can follow and see which athlete is making an impact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a service that we open to everyone – and with our over 100,000 social media viewers – it is exposure that many would never receive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While so have taken advantage of what we do, you would be surprised at how many people ignore the opportunity, and to be honest, those are the coaches who hear the complaints from parents and athletes about the lack of exposure for their athletes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While many pass the request over like it is below them, hundreds make it a priority to send that important information on to us.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today, we take a look at the prospects who impacted their teams – win or lose – during the Region Final round of the state playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ryan Oakley</strong>, DB, Jacksonville University Christian had 8 tackles, 1 TFL (2 saved TDs), 1 was keeping a player inbounds and the clock moving essentially sealing the game against rival Jacksonville University Christian.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Plantation American Heritage All-American senior running back <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='127994' first='Mark' last='Fletcher']</strong> carried 21 times for 194 yards and two scores in a win against two-time defending state champion Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons. Class of 2023 LB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128677' first='Jamarcus' last='Smith']</strong> finished with an interception, sack and three tackles. Senior kicker <strong>Wylie Shaw</strong> continued his amazing season with a field goal, 4 for 4 on extra points and 5 touchbacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a losing effort against Miami True North Classical Academy in a 1M Region final, Miami Palmer Trinity QB <strong>Aden Davenport</strong> was 27 of 27 for 469 yards and 3 touchdowns.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In Miami True North Classical Academy's Region final win, <strong>Zac Katz</strong> (16/20 277 yards, 4 TDs, 16 yards rushing), <strong>Jasen “Jroc” Lopez</strong> (10 receptions, 215 yards, 3 TDs, 35-yard kick return and 25 yard punt return), <strong>Tristian Smith</strong> (6 tackles, 2 FF, 2 Sacks and 2 carries 5 yards 2 TDs), <strong>JonJon Delgado</strong> (4 carries 37 yards, 1 reception 8 yards, 2 Kickoff Returns 60 yards and 7 tackles on defense) and <strong>Jayson Lopez</strong> (7 tackles, 20 yard Fumble recovery TD).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Deaglan Camron</strong> 2023 Fort Myers Bishop Verot PK had 3 FGs, 7 touchbacks and perfect on PATs and contributed 12 points in a huge win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ocoee senior WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128043' first='Asaad' last='Waseem']</strong> had nine catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback <strong>Keyondray Jones</strong> had 238 yards rushing in a 4M Region final win over Tarpon Springs East Lake.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>St. Petersburg Lakewood 2023 quarterback <strong>Anthony Colandrea</strong> led a 626-yard barrage, throwing for 404 yards and five touchdown passes in a 2M Region final win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Orlando Jones stunned Orlando Edgewater as the Tigers had 4 interceptions including 2 from <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128076' first='Jayden' last='Gillens']</strong> and a pick-6 by <strong>George Brown</strong> in the fourth quarter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>David Buggs</strong> threw 2 touchdown passes in the second half and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128468' first='Ja'Keem' last='Jackson']</strong> returned an interception 69 yards for a touchdown to give Kissimmee Osceola a win over Vero Beach.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Tyson Davison</strong> ran for 111 yards, and <strong>Zeldrick Roberts</strong> ran for 2 touchdowns to lead Apopka past Lake Mary. Davison ran for 111 yards on 9 carries. He also completed 4 of 8 passes for 38 yards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lake City Columbia quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128320' first='Tyler' last='Jefferson']</strong> found receiver <strong>Tray Tolliver</strong> in overtime to send the Tigers past Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ocala Trinity Catholic's <strong>Beau Beard</strong> and <strong>Gerald Lawton&nbsp;</strong>scored touchdowns, nose guard Tyler Simms played well on defense along with <strong>Courtney Patterson's</strong> interception in a win over Gainesville P.K. Yonge.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Running back <strong>Anthony Bridgewater</strong>, quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128298' first='Blake' last='Boda']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='951719' first='C.J.' last='Bragg']</strong> and <strong>Cedrick Hawkins</strong> ignited Cocoa on offense, and <strong>Loren Ward</strong> came up big on defense in a win over previously unbeaten Bushnell South Sumter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tallahassee Florida High received so many top offensive performances by junior <strong>Ashton Hampton</strong>, junior quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='223677' first='Jeremy' last='Johnston']</strong>, senior <strong>Brooks Hickman</strong>, senior <strong>Jalon Carter</strong> and senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='128409' first='Rhyder' last='Poppell']</strong> in a 38-13 win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br>In Jacksonville Bolles' exciting win against Raines, the Bulldogs had a number of players step up. Among those were defenders <strong>Kavon Miller </strong>and <strong>Breeland Madison</strong>, defensive lineman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1322987' first='Martin' last='Geary']</strong>, running back <strong>Ty Neal</strong>, wide receiver <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1206198' first='Naeem' last='Burroughs']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1315725' first='Chase' last='Collier']</strong> and <strong>Simeon Caldwell</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br>Rematches are never easy as St. John's Bartram Trail found out at home in a heart-breaking loss to Gainesville Buchholz.
