While so many football players have received offers – and in many cases – are committing, there are talented young men who continue to impress without a lot of fanfare.
As we stated last week, our objective is to promote student/athletes who are making plays and putting up stats. We have always rewarding productivity. Getting pre-season hype and several offers is always nice, but the name of the game is producing and that is what we care about.
Today, with the 2022 season in the books and the post season getting started, we bring you several receivers who not only received the hype, but also backed it up.
The senior class was loaded this season with players who had the opportunity to make an impact and showcase their many talents to colleges and universities across the country.
Among those Class of 2023 performers include Jason Bourciquot (6-0, 175, Pembroke Pines Charter), Demitrius Carter Jr. (6-3, 175, Lutz Steinbrenner), Zackary Drawdy (6-3, 180, Yulee), Jessie Fields (5-10, 160, Coconut Creek Monarch), Jamari Haynes (5-10, 160, Plantation), Olsen Pratt Henry (6-4, 220, Naples First Baptist), Ohio State-bound Brandon Inniss Brandon Inniss 6'0" | 195 lbs | WR Plantation American Heritage | 2023 State FL (6-0, 190, Plantation American Heritage), Terrence Jackson (6-1, 165, Clearwater Countryside), FSU commitment Vandrevius Jacobs Vandrevius Jacobs 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Vero Beach | 2023 State FL (6-1, 170, Vero Beach) and B.J. Jenkins (5-8, 170, Pensacola Booker T. Washington).
The group of pass-catchers also feature prospects such as Michael Moore (6-0, 165, Newberry), Grayson Oberste (5-11, 155, Tallahassee Maclay), Jahlan Paul (5-11, 180, Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy), Julius Quinones (5-10 160, Hudson Fivay), Nichalas Rawls II (6-1, 170, Kissimmee Tohopekaliga), Traylon Ray Traylon Ray 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Tallahassee North Florida Christian | 2023 State FL (6-3, 175, Tallahassee North Florida Christian), Reed Robinson (6-4, 210, Pensacola Booker T. Washington), Corey Scott (6-0, 170, Jacksonville Episcopal) and Chipley’s Dequayvious Sorey (6-2, 190), who is committed to Auburn.
Akeem Stokes (5-8, 170, Pensacola Escambia), Assad Waseem (5-11, 170, Ocoee) and the No. 1 receiver in Florida Kenari Wilcher Kenari Wilcher 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Tallahassee Chiles | 2023 FL (6-1, 175, Moore Haven) are also impressive and have a bright future.
SOME QUALITY UNDERCLASSMEN
In addition to those elite senior playmakers, the state also boasts some outstanding underclassmen – starting with Class of 2024 players Owen Conner (5-10, 170, St. Cloud), Payton Dykas (6-0, 165, Green Cove Springs Clay), Maddax Fayard (5-10, 185, Niceville), Isaiah Hudson (5-11, 175, Tampa Sickles), A.J. McFarlane A.J. McFarlane 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Hudson | 2024 FL (5-10, 150, Hudson), Julian Nasco (5-11, 160, Kissimmee Tohopekaliga) and Pensacola Catholic’s Jayvion Showers (6-2, 165).
Even the Class of 2025 prospects Kaleb Taylor-Burch (5-8, 145, Jacksonville Christ’s Church), Waden Charles (6-3, 180, Boynton Beach Somerset Canyons), Noah Magill (6-1, 150, Lecanto Seven Rivers Christian) and Blake Wallace (6-1, 170, Boca Raton Spanish River) gave a glimpse of the future.
