Review:
After getting bounced in the quarterfinals last year Mountain View was looked at as a team that would have to replace a lot of talent not to mention a legendary Coach as they started the season. In Coach Compton’s first year the Mavericks were able to shake off a couple of tough loses in order to make the playoffs this year. After falling short of the goal last year the Mavericks were able to get past their first round opponent and then travel east to knock off another power house before losing in the semifinal game. Led by a senior quarterback who could make all the throws and really showed his poise after a tough start to the beginning of the year with an offensive line led by three players who brought the physicality up front. Mountain View happened to be young at the running back position but with those players all coming back it will interesting to see which one takes the reigns. Losing two solid wide receivers is hard on any team but Mavericks are proud of the accomplishments that the seniors were able to leave behind for the future Mavericks to follow. On defense they are going to miss the three linebackers dubbed by many as some of the best in the entire state along with a safety who really was a coach on the field. Lucky enough for them they bring back two in the secondary that had made a name for themselves. This team is going to go down as one of the toughest as they battled through transition and hard loses to reach a semifinal in a season that many had counted them out of.
