Both these teams appear to have different strengths and weaknesses that they will try to exploit. Each team is sitting at 6-5 for the year and will give it their all for the chance to continue the pursuit of a state championship. This will be a somewhat high-scoring game as the last time these two teams met in August it was a 48-49 affair with Wesson starting out with a Dominant lead while Tylertown made an incredible comeback to make it a 1 point game. Both teams have developed since then and there is no question that both teams will be fighting to gain an edge over the opponent. Here are a few key athletes that will be influential in regard to the outcome of the contest.

The Cobra's and Cheif's best playmakers would be their Quarterbacks. For the Wesson Cobra's #15 [player_tooltip player_id='108932' first='Will' last='Loy'](QB) has been the go-to guy on every play. He averages over 200 yards passing per game and is electric with the ball in his hands. He's thrown for an incredible 25 Touchdowns and over 2,200 yards this season. His completion rate can use some improvement but nevertheless, Will makes smart decisions with the football and puts the ball in the hands of his receivers quite efficiently. Keonnis Davis(QB) is equally as dangerous with the ball in his hands and what is even more impressive is that he is doing this all as a Freshman. Davis also averages over 200 yards passing per game however his completion rate is significantly higher. Additionally, Davis shows the capability to get outside of the pocket and make plays with his legs. He has already been impressive this year however It is safe to say that he will continue to grow as a playmaker as he progresses throughout high school. These two QBs are 6th and 7th in the state for passing yards. Whichever can minimize mistakes and make crucial plays under pressure will lead their team to victory.

The complimentary athletes to the QB are important as well. For the Wesson Cobra's #4 [player_tooltip player_id='402099' first='O'Mari' last='Johnson'](ATH) is an incredibly talented athlete who has made this team what it is. O'Mari has the most yards rushing and receiving with nearly 1,300 combined total yards and 18 total TDs. This kid is also just a freshman but playing high-caliber football. He will certainly be a factor in this match. If Johnson is not enough the Cobras have another 750+ receiver in Dewshawn Smith(WR) who is notably explosive with the ball in his hands. The Tylertown Chiefs have a decent running back in Ahmad Thompson(RB) who averages over 5 yards per carry and is efficient with every carry. Furthermore, receiver [player_tooltip player_id='910407' first='Kylon' last='Magee'](WR) is a stud when it comes to route running and explosiveness. These athletes will need to be at the top of their game in order to give their team the upper hand when in this contest.

With both these high-scoring offenses each team will have to have an effective defense to have a chance at gaining an edge over their opponents. The Cobras will be led by non-other than Lucas McRee(MLB) McRee leads the team with a considerable 120 tackles for the season. He is a sure tackler in and out of the box and does an excellent job at shutting down the run and dropping in pass coverage. Although McRee is an excellent athlete he will need the rest of his defense to step up as well, bring pressure, and cause mistakes by the opposing QBs. The Chiefs' main defensive player is #4 Demario Harrell(OLB) Harrell is an aggressive linebacker who is multifaceted when it comes to playing positions and has a great instinct for deciphering the play developing. Both Lucas and Demario will need to have excellent communication and sound assignment awareness in order to keep their opponents at bay.

Prediction

As I mentioned both these teams have extremely high-power offenses. This reminds me of the 2018 Chiefs vs Rams game where both teams scored above 50 points due to their high-powered offense. One can therefore expect this game to be somewhat of a shootout and the team who can create an additional possession may be the victor.

Wesson 48 Tylertown 45

Both these teams appear to have different strengths and weaknesses that they will try to exploit. Each team is sitting at 6-5 for the year and will give it their all for the chance to continue the pursuit of a state championship. This will be a somewhat high-scoring game as the last time these two teams met in August it was a 48-49 affair with Wesson starting out with a Dominant lead while Tylertown made an incredible comeback to make it a 1 point game.
