Dequinder is squarely in the Athlete category because of his ability to make plays on the football at the Wide Receiver and Defensive Back positions.
At Wide Receiver, Dequinder shows a very good ability to win one on one jump balls versus defensive backs, as well as an ability to really show his agility in the open field.
At Defensive Back, Williams is not afraid to come up and tackle in open space. Also, because of his abilities at Wide Receiver, he shows excellent ball skills in one on one coverage situations.
ATH Reggie Daniel – Mountain Island
Another athlete at receiver and defensive back, Daniel has some excellent height at 6’3 along with good hands – that combo led him to be an All-Conference selection this season.
At Wide Receiver, Daniel was almost unguardable in one on one situations on the outside – jump balls and straight-go routes resulted in multiple first downs and touchdowns all season.
At Defensive Back, he shows great anticipation in zone coverage, and his excellent ball skills transfer over to the safety position from the offensive side of the football.
DE Rocco Fazzolari – Cuthbertson
At 6’3 and 215 pounds, he has a good-sized physical frame that college coaches like and can continue to add weight to and mold at the next level.
Has the excellent closing speed to get to the quarterback after he disengages from his block – probably has great short-space agility and quickness as a result of this.
Excellent motor – there is one play where he outruns a quarterback 25 yards downfield to save a potential touchdown against his defense – very impressive.
Thomas Wilson – Myers Park
At 6’3 and 270 pounds, a very good-looking offensive lineman from a physical perspective. Was named an All-Conference player this past season.
A very valuable trait – his film shows him playing both Center and Right Tackle, and at a high level. College coaches will absolutely love that about him,
I love his physicality at the point of attack. I lost count of the number of knockdown blocks just in the first minute of his film. Super impressive!
QB Johnathan Montague – Knightdale
At 6’1 and 195 pounds, I enjoyed watching his film. He is a dual-threat player, but I like that he does not always escape to run – he will escape to throw downfield and make big plays.
His accuracy on the deep ball is pretty good – his first 6 or 7 highlights are hitting receivers in stride deep downfield for big plays and/or touchdowns.
I am interested to see how he performs in his senior year – if he can add a variety of different throws in his highlights along with another gear in the run game, he could be a sleeper recruit for sure that a smart college will jump on early because of his potential.
