6A
Bray Hubbard Bray Hubbard 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Ocean Springs | 2023 State MS | Ocean Springs
Rinse and repeat. For the 2nd consecutive year the QB from the coast again won the award for the best football player in 6A. The Greyhound signal caller has completed 135-190 passes for 1967 yards and 20 TD’s to only 4 INTs and has ran for 1350 yards on 162 carries with 16 additional TD’s. Opposing defenses along the coast cannot wait for the Alabama commitment to graduate. The question now is what position group will Hubbard belong to in Tuscaloosa as he has potential to play as a defensive back, wideout or remain at QB, although that seems unlikely. Keep an eye on Hubbard as the 6A playoffs continue on.

Dante Dowdell Dante Dowdell 6'2" | 215 lbs | RB Picayune Memorial | 2023 State MS | Picayune
The Maroon Tide won the 5A state title in 2021 due in part to the contribution of Dowdell at running back and now have their sights set on a repeat this year. The current Oregon commit projects as the top all-purpose back in the state with potential to contribute in all phases of the offense. Dowdell is extremely well put together physically and has the look of a guy that can step onto a college campus and contribute early. 178 carries for 1578 yards and 20 TD’s highlight what has been a great senior campaign.
4A
Isaac Smith Isaac Smith 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Itawamba Agricultural | 2023 State MS | Itawamba AHS
Most everyone in the state will agree that Smith is the top uncommitted talent for this cycle currently. The IAHS playmaker has produced all over the field in 2022: 65 carries for 890 yards and 17 TD – 42 receptions 741 yards and 4 TD – 69 tackles 10 INTs and a force fumble. Athletic ability oozes out of Smith all over the field but he best projects as a strong safety at the next level. Smith shows a feel for the game that is wise beyond his years and contributes exceptionally in pass coverage as well as shows willingness to step up in run defense. From a physical perspective Smith is put together in an impressive way. As the season winds down this will be a recruitment garnering plenty of eyes.
