Five Uncommitted Large-School 2023s Worth A Scouting Trip Friday

As we inch closer to the early signing period, scores of talented seniors across the state are making their cases for offers - whether they've already got some or not.   But in the state's two big classes, the number of players still putting up new film has been cut down significantly. College coaches, this post is for you.   With South Carolina's Upper and Lower State Finals scheduled for Friday, we wanted to put together a package of currently uncommitted seniors in the Class 5A and Class 4A schools who you can go scout in person. We've got dudes on both sides of the ball who have displayed the type of athleticism that is made for the next level.    Here are six we'd advise you take advantage of seeing live.   [player_tooltip player_id='336150' first='Evin' last='Singletary'] WR, South Florence   At 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds (maybe?) Singletary's size has held back his recruiting. But his speed and production is undeniable. The Bruins standout is a home run threat every single play, and with [player_tooltip player_id='146356' first='LaNorris' last='Sellers'] able to throw the ball a cool 70 yards, Singletary has proved it by going for 978 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='202726' first='Markel' last='Townsend'] RB, AC Flora   If you start flirting with 5,000 career rushing yards at a Class 4A school, you're clearly not some system running back. You've got some skills. That's exactly what Townsend has proved time and again during his three years on the Falcons' varsity. We had him as a top-50 player in the state during the early part of the season and he's only going more north on our next update.    [player_tooltip player_id='89335' first='Keith' last='Elmore'] DB, Summerville   Elmore is a rangy defender who doesn't mind mixing it up in oncoming traffic. He's 6-foot, 185 pounds and a college weight room from being a quick 205. That's all crucial because against Fort Dorchester on Friday, Elmore is going to have every opportunity to shine against a team that has bullied its last eight opponents - including Summerville.     [player_tooltip player_id='89345' first='Zolten' last='Osborne'] QB, Fort Dorchester   Osborne's numbers are frequently the product of a super-sized offensive line, a talented trio of tailbacks and an early season injury that sidelined him for a few games. But watching him whip it around 55 yards off his back foot in warm ups last week told us everything we need to know about his recovery. Against Summerville Friday, Osborne (pictured) is likely going to be more active.    [player_tooltip player_id='336118' first='Damien' last='Jackson'] LB Northwestern   Jackson missed the first chunk of the season with an injury, but he's returned strong and is going to have a chance to prove himself further during the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in December in Myrtle Beach. He's a 6-foot, 230-pound middle linebacker who has only just started to show his potential. Friday's game at Greenville could be the next display.
