Continue ReadingThis week is a huge for some amazing high school programs in the state of Alabama. This week is not the beginning of the race to the Super 7 Football State Championship game, but its one foot closer to that blue map everyone is chasing for. This week I would like to feature two amazing programs in the state. These two team are battling for a purpose and that purpose is to put their programs back in the race for a chance to win big and to continue a journey that can generate some hype year on and year out. The two programs I am highlighting has every weapon you can think of that can win them a State Championship. I am looking forward to seeing this battle going down on Friday, November 18, 2022.
Y’all know what time it is, So Let’s dive into some Alabama football
KJ possesses tremendous arm strength. He has excellent ball spin and has little trouble moving the ball vertically downfield. Lacey’s arm strength is complemented by his ability to loft touch throws downfield. Lacey has a rapid release and can make plays that are not designed. Lacey is a true dual-threat quarterback who can also run the ball extremely well in traffic. He can dart upfield quickly and has good speed for a quarterback, allowing him to accelerate faster while sprinting away from opponents. Lacey is dangerous at play development and can make big plays on rollouts due to his athletic scrambling skills and powerful arm. Just getting to watch this kid has shown scouts like myself a lot, from his athletic presence to his amazing stats on the field to getting everyone on his team involved in achieving a victory.
Great win @GoSaraland

Williams is a skilled receiver who can do it all. He runs his route efficiently, taking no additional steps in and out of his breaks on the field. He moves quickly enough through the route and shifts sufficiently to avoid press coverage. Williams used his route-running and agility to frequently gain separation between defenders on any team. Williams has good ball tracking skills and great body control, allowing him to adapt to the ball while making extraordinary catches down the sideline. Regardless of his lack of size, Williams is proficient at making receptions around coverage to win on 50-50 balls. He displays excellent composure and attention to detail while being covered by defenders in his way.
Great Team Win @GoSaraland

Talton Thomas
Talton Thomas
In zone coverage defending the pass, Thomas is extremely dependable. Thomas is a stronger and more natural safety who is fast, smart, and instinctual. He covers a lot of ground and is effective at trapping receivers who come into his area. He is a solid tackler who is ready to take on any defensive player that comes his way. Thomas is better suited for man coverage against tight ends or sideline help versus large wide receivers.Thomas is a disciplined DB who avoids don’t jump on double moves. Instead of demonstrating the vision problems that lead to falling for play fakes, he uses his eye discipline to skillfully scan the receivers. This kid is amazing on the field and has a lot to show up during his next matchup against Saraland High School, and I’m here for it.
Woods Ray Woods Ray 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Homewood | 2023 State AL demonstrates the ability to work his way in the pocket and distribute the ball in order to cut through a defense. Woods has a strong pocket presence and excellent field vision. Woods’ field vision has improved dramatically since his freshman year. He studies his targets really well, works through his progressions, and makes great decisions about who to throw the ball to. Woods throws great touch passes with nice accuracy to beat good coverage against any defender. While he has the ability to go vertical, Woods is a savvy player who will take the check down when no other options are available. Woods has exceptional pocket movement, allowing him to avoid pass rushers, roll out to gain time, and ascend the pocket. On the run, he can throw deep or transform a play in which the defense has everything covered into a big gain for his team. His feet also allowed him to take off on runs and gain valuable yards. Woods has more open-field speed than most mobile quarterbacks in the state. This week is a big one for him to keep raising his stock and putting his hometown team back on the map on the way to the Super 7 State Championship.
