The battle for the number one seed in the 7-A Central takes place this Friday night. Bryant and Conway are each team that have played at a high level this season and it comes as no surprise to see those two teams battling it out for the number one seed. We are going to look at key players for each team in this matchup of powerhouse teams in the state of Arkansas.

Bryant Hornets

The 2022 season has been business as usual for the Bryant Hornets. Using a strong mix of the run and the pass, the Hornets have taken care of business all season. The Hornets possess a defense that terrorizes opposing offenses. Bryant's defense has talent all over the field with several players with the potential to play on Saturdays in the future. The possibility of a state championship is not out of the question for the Hornets this season. Conway and Bryant games are always physical, and I expect this one to be a hard-hitting affair on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='337883' first='Drake' last='Fowler']-Defensive Back-Bryant-2024

A prospect to watch out for over the rest of the season and next season is the Bryant safety. Fowler is a playmaker in the secondary and does an excellent job of closing on and making plays on the ball. He is a prospect in the secondary that can play just as well as he does the pass. Fowler has no problem moving up and hauling down the ball carrier. He defeats blocks well and he will be a player to watch out for this week against Conway.

[player_tooltip player_id='166998' first='Mytorian' last='Singleton']-Wide Receiver-Bryant-2024

The skill position players for Bryant are always prospects that you want to pay attention throughout the course of a season. Singleton is a wide receiver that has the speed to stretch the defense vertically. The Bryant coaching staff does a great job of lining him up all over the field. Singleton is a smooth route runner with the speed to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He will be a prospect to watch out for Friday night and during the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='304269' first='TJ' last='Lindsey']-Defensive Line-Bryant-2024

One of the most dynamic defensive line prospects in the state of Arkansas calls Bryant home. Lindsey can play the edge or tackle position with impressive effectiveness. He is an extremely quick lineman who has the ability to destroy the offensive backfield game plan. Lindsey has the potential to take over games and Friday night could be a big game for the Bryant defensive lineman. Keep an eye on him over the next season, he has the opportunity to be a special one for the Hornets lineman.

Conway Wampus Cats

The Conway Wampus Cats have had a tremendous two year run in the 7-A Central. This is a season where the number one seed is on the line for the Wampus Cats and the Hornets. At 8-1 on the season, the Wampus Cats are what stand in the way of the Bryant Hornets being the number one seed out of the 7-A Central. Conway has plenty of talented prospects that we are going to take a look at. The Wampus Cats have the talent on both sides of the ball to become the number one seed out the central division.

[player_tooltip player_id='385303' first='Aaron' last='Smith']-Offensive Line-Conway-2023

The Wampus Cats have one of the state's most impressive offensive lineman anchoring the offensive line. Smith plays with a chip on his shoulder and explodes out of his stance. He is an extremely quick offensive lineman that looks to finish every block. Smith is a devastating blocker when it comes to both the run and the pass, and he uses his size and quickness well. Smith is a player to watch out for this Friday night and will be an impact player on Saturdays in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='283558' first='Jamarion' last='Carr']-Running Back-Conway-2023

[player_tooltip player_id='283558' first='Jamarion' last='Carr'] is a running back that opposing defenses must account for on the football field. He has a bruising style of running and will deliver a hit to the opposing defender. Carr is rarely brought down on initial contact. He does a great job of keeping his legs churning and going forward. Carr is a player that folks will want to watch out for on Friday and through the playoffs as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='214836' first='Donovyn' last='Omolo']-Quarterback-Conway-2024

The Wampus Cat signal caller is an accurate quarterback with a strong arm. He does a great job of fitting the football into some tight windows. Omolo moves around in the pocket well and is good at extending the play. He keeps his eyes down the field and is looking to make the throw to his receivers. Omolo is a player to watch this Friday night and during the playoffs. Omolo is another prospect that has the potential to see playing time on Saturdays in the future.

The battle for the number one seed in the 7-A Central takes place this Friday night.
