The Bucs had to hit the road to move on and they did so in dramatic fashion, shutting down a good Ravens defense while keeping their consistent rushing attack going.

On a cold Friday night in Antioch, Tennessee, the Beech Buccaneers played one of their best games of the season at the right time of the year as they demolished the home Cane Ridge Ravens, 35-7 to advance to the Class 6A Semifinals and one win away from competing for a state title.

The game could have been a different story early as Cane Ridge had the ball first, drove it into the Bucs redzone but an interception from senior [player_tooltip player_id='345943' first='Caden' last='Thieman'] shut that drive down and Beech would take control from there.

https://twitter.com/Cville_Sports/status/1593775250428174337?s=20&t=7w49atYJuml33wJzB8ZBzg

The Buccaneers scored on their 1st offensive possession then proceeded to score again on their second possession to take a 14-0 lead and let it be known that the home was going to be in for a long night!

Cane Ridge would answer back with a short pass from [player_tooltip player_id='515308' first='Shivan' last='Abdullah'] to running back [player_tooltip player_id='495417' first='Reggie' last='Goodloe'] to bring the score to within seven but that's as close as the Ravens would get the remainder of the game.

Beech immediately answered to push the score out to 21-7 but the great thing about the lead for the Bucs was how they got it. A team known for running the ball, the Buccaneers brought out the passing attack as junior [player_tooltip player_id='480626' first='Justyce' last='Law'] hit touchdown passes to Thieman and [player_tooltip player_id='155800' first='Tyler' last='Nix'] throughout the game which was a pleasant surprise and a dynamic the Bucs may utilize more next week against Bartlett.

https://twitter.com/Cville_Sports/status/1593788524121178112?s=20&t=7w49atYJuml33wJzB8ZBzg

For the home Ravens, trailing 21-7 at half, they still had a glimmer of hope but they couldn't allow many more points from Beech but that wasn't the case as senior athlete [player_tooltip player_id='410577' first='J.P.' last='Courtney'] took the hand-off on the first play of the 2nd half and ran it 69 yards, all the way to the end zone.

That score from Courtney pretty much put the game in the books as the 21 point lead seemed to be too much for the Ravens to overcome as they just couldn't get much going on offense nor slow down the Buccaneers offensive attack.

The Buccaneers defense was excellent all night long as they shut down the Ravens run game and blanketed their receivers for much of the game. Cane Ridge was able to move the ball at times but the Bucs played a great bend but don't break defense that proved to be a recipe for success.

Beech would score one more time before the final whistle was blown for a 35-7 Quarterfinal road victory over a previously once beaten Cane Ridge football team.

It was an impressive performance and win from the Buccaneers but the path remains hard as they have to travel to Memphis next week to face a very talented Panthers ball club that has beaten some very strong teams this season.

https://twitter.com/BeechFootball/status/1593823591828692992?s=20&t=7w49atYJuml33wJzB8ZBzg

Players of the Game

- (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='410577' first='J.P.' last='Courtney'] - Beech: This two-way talent has been a star all season and against the Ravens, he was a non-stop rushing machine that the home team just couldn't slow down or stop.

- (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='345943' first='Caden' last='Thieman'] - Beech: Thieman set the tone early with picking off Abdullah on the 1st drive then proceeded to produce several big catches and runs on offense.

- (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='155800' first='Tyler' last='Nix'] - Beech: The Bucs top defensive prospect did his job precisely on defense but also contributed several big catches on offense, including one touchdown reception.

- (OL/DL) Maddox Sorenson - Beech: The rushing game was on point tonight for the Bucs and Sorenson was a major reason why, pushing back the Ravens D-line and opening holes for his running backs.

- ‘24 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='480626' first='Justyce' last='Law'] - Beech: Law was the perfect conductor for his Bucs offense in this game as he made no mistakes and was asked to deliver several key passes, which he did for two touchdowns.
