Yes, Skyridge lost to Corner Canyon, but that was without starting quarterback McCae Hillstead McCae Hillstead 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Skyridge | 2023 State UT . With one of the best quarterbacks in the state back under center, they jump back up to the top spot in our rankings. They still scored the most points of any team in Region 4 (490), even without Hillstead. They have only given 113 points on the season, even after facing Orem, Timpview, and all the Region 4 foes. Linebacker Tausili Akana Tausili Akana 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Skyridge | 2023 State UT and corner Smith Snowden Smith Snowden 5'9" | 170 lbs | DB Skyridge | 2023 State UT make up one of the best defensive duos in the state.
2. Corner Canyon Chargers (10-2)
The Chargers have been nearly unstoppable since Region 4 play began. Their two losses came against Bishop Gourmet, one of the nation’s top teams, and Lehi. Quarterback Isaac Wilson Isaac Wilson 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Corner Canyon | 2024 State UT and Tate Kjar lead a high-powered offense that no team in the state has been able to keep in check. Defensively linebacker Owen Borg Owen Borg 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT and the Charges have only allowed over 20 points four times this year. The Charges have the pieces to be state champions once again and make up for last year’s title game loss to Lone Peak.
3. Bingham Miners (10-2)
The Miners are one of just five teams in 6A to have scored over 400 points on the season. In the second half of their season in Region 3 play Bingham allowed just 56 points making them one of the state’s most robust defenses. Quarterback Dallen Martinez, Running backs Carson Sudbury, and Have a Fotu make up one of the state’s premier rushing attacks. With big wins over Riverton, Mountain Ridge, West Jordan, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, and Lone Peak, the Knights are tested and capable of beating anyone at Rice Eccles.
4. Farmington Phoenix (10-2)
The Phoenix started the regular season 7-0 but closed it out 1-2, leaving many to wonder how they would fare once the playoffs began. However, Farmington silenced the haters with two dominant wins against Weber and American Fork to reach the semifinals. Defensive end Jed Judkins leads the Phoenix in sacks with 11, while defensive back Dayton Runyan has seven interceptions. The Farmington defense can play with any team in the state, and with Easton Wight at quarterback, this team could go the distance.
