During the regular season Picayune and Gautier faced off in a very good battle. The Maroon Tide won the game 48-42 and ended up winning the district. These two teams are very familiar with each other. This could very well be another high scoring game. Who will come out on top this time?

Gautier

[player_tooltip player_id='108931' first='Kaden' last='Irving'] hasn't let up a beat since he surpassed the ten thousand passing yard mark. Their first game he was on fire finding AJ Phillips and Dillon Alfred in the endzone. They played a very tight game and put up a lot of points. They have what it takes to get it done against a very stout Picayune defense. If they can get their offense going like they did the first time they have a very good chance of winning this game. Their coach needs to make sure they protect Irving. Picayune is not a pushover on defense. They have some guys who know how to get to the quarterback. Irving needs to be the same type of player the last game. I think they have what it takes. It will be a long night if they don't protect the quarterback.

Their defense is going to need to find a way to stop the Picayune offense. Monyeh Boykin is a tackling machine that will have his hands full this Friday night. Picayune has a few running backs that can get the job done. Xzavier Hye is also another linebacker that gets after it on the Gator defense. Mekhi Redmond is also another monstrous tackler that Gautier has. Angel McGee needs to make sure he clogs the middle of this defense. They don't want to have too many holes in their defense. Their last game against Picayune their defense allowed a lot of rushing yards. They need to find a way to force a big push upfront. They have what it takes they just need to execute.

Picayune

Picayune is super loaded and they are going to come into the game confident. [player_tooltip player_id='108971' first='Dante' last='Dowdell'] was the force that put the dagger in Gautier's defense during the regular season. [player_tooltip player_id='344053' first='Chris' last='Davis'] is a guy that can hurt this Gautier defense as well. Darrell Smith and Darnell Smith can hurt their defense. This Picayune squad has so many options on offense. Brody Robertson is their quarterback and sometimes he gets to complete a pass or two. If they keep that same energy from the regular season they can win this game. They have a good way of keeping the ball a long time. That will be the key to keeping that Gautier offense off the field.

Their defense will be ready. [player_tooltip player_id='340826' first='Zavion' last='Coleman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='344138' first='Jamonta' last='Waller'] are some monsters on the defensive line. These guys are going to be ready to attack that pass blocking scheme that Gautier has. Their pass rush is amazing. They know how to move when need to get to the quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='108931' first='Kaden' last='Irving'] knows how to escape the pocket. He can make it hard for defense. Their secondary will need to be ready to cover two very explosive receivers. If they get loose early enough they could make it dangerous for the Picayune defense.
