It was most certainly one of Wyatt's top performances of 2022, and to start the second half he broke free for a 75 yard touchdown run on the very first play from scrimmage. To call Wyatt's performance dominant would be an understatement, and I think that we can safely say that this was one of the top overall performances from an offensive player from the 2022 WCAC regular season. He opened the scoring against Good Counsel with a beautiful 55 yard touchdown pass to his wide receiver Cody Williams, and the throw he made was perfection as Gardner looked off the defender and then delivered a strike to the chest of his pass catcher. Gardner also continues to run the ball with success each and every game, however, [player_tooltip player_id='90681' first='Brendon' last='Wyatt'] was so dominant in this game that it was difficult for any other Stag ball carriers to put up any rushing numbers. I am certain that [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] will always take the win over the numbers, and that's yet another reason why I believe he's one of the top overall quarterbacks in the area. He found the open space with ease throughout the contest, and he was one of Gardner's leading pass catchers on the day. If this elite duo of Williams and Gardner continues to blossom throughout the playoffs then DeMatha's offense is going to be nearly impossible to defend given their elite backfield. Brian Bates Jr, the Senior linebacker, played his best game of the season in this game against Good Counsel, and if he performs at a similar level tonight then it's going to be a very long night for the Gonzaga Purple Eagles' offense. Jackson read the route perfectly and jumped it and then went aerial in a beautiful display of athleticism, focus, and play-making ability.
