Throughout the month of October, we had an update to our prospect rankings. Three weeks ago, we released our first watch list for the 2026 class. The first rankings for that class will come out in January. Two weeks ago, it was all about the 2025 class. We’ve updated those rankings to feature the top 75 sophomores in the state. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. Last week, we took a look at some of the top juniors in Oklahoma with an update to the 2024 rankings. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. This week, we finish up the ranking breakdowns with a look at the 2023 rankings. You can check out the Top 200 Seniors RIGHT HERE.
In this post, we’re taking a look at ten prospects who have significantly raised their stock over the last several months. All of these prospects were ranked back in June, but all ten have moved up the rankings in a big way with their performance on the field over the last several month. Stay tuned throughout the week for more 2023 prospect breakdowns.
Moved Up 12 Spots rnYou can make the argument that of the ten prospects on this breakdown, none have been more productive over the last four seasons than Cushing standout Camden Crooks Camden Crooks 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Cushing | 2023 State OK . In fact, you can make the argument that there aren’t ten other prospects that have been more productive. So we’ve gotten to the point where we don’t care what offers he does or does not have. Crooks is one of the best players in the state. He’s been that for a few years now and continues to shine every single week, even though all of Class 4A knows he’s a gamechanger. He’s this year’s version of Gavin Freeman and we’re seeing what he’s doing in Norman on Saturdays at OU.
Highlights
Moved Up 12 Spots rnThe first of two Union prospects on this breakdown is defensive back and Tulsa commit Devin Robinson Devin Robinson 6’2″ | 190 lbs | DB Union | 2023 State OK . Coming into the season, we knew that Robinson was one of the more talented defensive backs in the state. So he didn’t have very high to climb compared to some of the other stock risers. But after getting a chance to see him in person a few times this fall, he even impressed us and we already had a high opinion of him. He’s become of the state’s best safeties and there’s a lot of things that he does incredibly well on the football field. Robinson is also the leader of a Union secondary that is arguably the best in Oklahoma right now, not just in 6A-1.
Moved Up 14 Spots rnThe other Union stock riser is running back DJ McKinney DJ McKinney 6’0″ | RB Union | 2023 State OK . He’s been one of the best players in the state this season and has produced every time he’s stepped foot on the field. After having a breakout season at Booker T Washington last season, McKinney moved over to Union and his game has reached new heights within this Redhawk offense. As a true running back, McKinney has elusive speed and surprising strength. He’s not the biggest back in the class but he has no problem with lowering the shoulder. Then you also throw in his ability to be a receiver out of the backfield and help out the passing game and he’s become one of the best playmakers in 6A-1.
Moved Up 64 Spots rnOne of the biggest stock risers in the latest ranking update was Berryhill linebacker Ethan Stites Ethan Stites 6’2″ | 225 lbs | LB Berryhill | 2023 State OK . When we ranked him back in June, all we had to go off of was a two-day stretch in May at the Rejoice Team Camp where he dominated. But we wanted to see more consistency and production and that’s exactly what we’ve gotten from the senior from Berryhill. He’s been their best player and has made an impact on both sides of the ball as he also stands out at the running back position. But when it comes to the next level, Stites is a middle or inside linebacker and he’s starting to get attention from quite a few schools, including a the D1 level.
Moved Up 24 Spots rnWe’ve seen Broken Arrow offensive lineman Jamison Mejia Jamison Mejia 6’5″ | 270 lbs | OL Broken Arrow | 2023 State OK probably four times in the last ten months. And it seemed like every time we saw him, he was bigger than the last time. Mejia has emerged as one of the top offensive linemen in this class and specifically at the tackle position. Mejia is a very athletic tackle that can move around and uses his hands incredibly well. And now that he’s adding to his long frame and continuing to get stronger, his stock has gone up and he has become a legitimate D1 prospect along the offensive line. He’s not the only offensive lineman on this breakdown and the 2023 class has some good ones. Mejia is one of them.
Highlights
Moved Up 28 Spots rnWe stay along the offensive line with one of the more consistent prospects over the last few years in Beggs offensive lineman Kaden Stanton Kaden Stanton 6’5″ | OL Beggs | 2023 State OK . We’ve also watched as Stanton has turned into an impact player along the defensive line. But he is no doubt at his best on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage. Stanton is right there with Mejia in terms of being a top five prospect at his position within the state’s 2023 class. It’s been a bumpy season for Beggs this fall but Stanton has once again been dominant, anchoring an offensive line that has helped pave the way for a running game that has been one of the best in the state over the last three seasons.
Moved Up 35 Spots rnThe defensive version of how we feel about Camden Crooks Camden Crooks 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Cushing | 2023 State OK is Verdigris linebacker Reese Roller Reese Roller 6’0″ | 210 lbs | LB Verdigris | 2023 State OK . You won’t find another defensive prospect that has been more productive than Roller over the last three seasons. This kid gets after the quarterback and puts him down in the blink of an eye. He has dominated opposing offensive linemen that have ended up signing with D1 programs. He had a game this season when they needed a win over Cascia Hall where he had 6 1/2 sacks and the defense shut out the Commandos. Like Crooks, we don’t care about what offers he does or doesn’t have. He can play at the next level and he can help a defense in a big way.

Moved Up 41 Spots rnIt has been a roller coaster of a career for Choctaw standout RJ Jackson RJ Jackson 6’4″ | DL Choctaw | 2023 State OK when it comes to our evaluation and rankings. Early on, it looked like Jackson would be one of the top overall prospects in the class. And when his recruitment didn’t blow up the way we thought it would, we took a step back. Now we’re all the way back in on Jackson as he’s moved positions from tight end to defensive end and he’s enjoying a fantastic senior season. In arguably the biggest game of the year for Choctaw this season against Deer Creek, Jackson dominated and terrorized the Deer Creek backfield. The more his DL tape makes the rounds, the recruitment should follow.
Moved Up 30 Spots rnSo we mentioned how there weren’t many prospects that have been as productive as Camden Crooks Camden Crooks 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Cushing | 2023 State OK . Well, we have another one, also in Class 4A, with Bethany standout Taylor Heim Taylor Heim 6’4″ | 185 lbs | ATH Bethany | 2023 State OK . Whether he’s a quarterback, running back, wide receiver or a defensive back, Heim has been an absolute star for the Bronchos over the last few seasons. He has them as a state championship contender once again and we have lost track of how many times Heim has thrown a touchdown, run for another, caught one and had an interception on defense, IN THE SAME GAME. As a prospect, he looks like it’ll be on defense but the sky is the limit for one of the more versatile prospects in the class.
Moved Up 88 Spots rnWithin the latest ranking update, you won’t find a prospect that jumped up more spots than Muldrow standout Trenden Collins Trenden Collins 6’2″ | ATH Muldrow | 2023 State OK . Before the season, we liked Collins as a defensive back. He’s had a solid career up to this point. This season, he’s been an absolute star as a running back for the Bulldogs, running for over 2,000 yards and becoming one of the biggest breakout stars in the state. Collins is also a basketball standout and a track state champion. His dad played basketball for OSU and his sister signed with OSU out of high school. He has the DNA, he has the production, the recruitment should blow up in the next two months with his film making the rounds.
