On the aforementioned interception, Harris high-pointed the ball well and made a big play for his team in their comeback victory. He holds an offer from Boston College – and at 6’2 185 I expect more to come his way sooner than later.
Mallard Creek – DL Myles Chambers – Pick 6 from his Defensive Tackle spot in victory over Hough – Myles’s Pick 6 was one of two defensive touchdowns for the Mavericks which helped them defeat Hough 13-9 in a huge win for their program. At 6’0 and 240 pounds, Chambers shows some good ability in getting off the football and forcing double teams – which allows the Mavericks’ talented linebacking core free reign in making plays all over the football field.
Kings Mountain – DL AJ Richardson – 9 Tackles, 6 Tackles For Loss, 3 Sacks & Fumble Rec in victory – We have talked about AJ before, but this was an exceptional overall performance as he was dominant on two of the three levels of the defense as he plays some defensive line and linebacker for the Mountaineers. AJ is a wonderful leader and helps out on offense as well at running back, fullback and h-back depending on the formation and situation. His future is on defense though, and he is a heck of a disruptive force on that side of the ball.
Monroe – ATH Jordan Young – 4 interceptions in their shutout victory over Parkwood – Jordan is only a sophomore! – Young is a special talent – at 6’0 and 160 pounds in the 2025 class, he has made plays all over the field this season for the Redhawks – he plays some wide receiver on offense to go with his defensive back talents, and has around 600 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns on that side of the ball. I love his instincts and ball skills as a defensive back on defense, and on offense, he’s dynamic in space with the ball in his hands.
Olympic – LB Jyron Tosi – 2025 LB with 9 Tackles and Interception in victory over South Meck – Another 2025 prospect making some big contributions on an undefeated Olympic Trojans team, Tosi is the son of former Trojan great LB Matt Tosi who played back in the late 90s. At 6’1 and 205 pounds, Tosi has a very bright future and a good present – he can play the run well and is a very good tackler. He also can move very well for his size and tackle in space. He does a good job of pass coverage in short spaces and doesn’t get beat very often. As he matures physically, he will definitely have a future on the next level as well.
