We had some great offensive performances from the Charlotte Metro Area (and beyond!) Let's take a look at the Week 8 Offensive Playmakers!

Asheville Christian – QB Javier Rice – 33-53 for 543 yards and 6 touchdown passes in loss to McCormick – a good-sized kid with great accuracy. Javier Rice in this game showed an incredible ability to make all kinds of throws - outside the pocket, in the pocket, scrambles, play-action, under duress - and he made those throws on all kinds of routes. Asheville Christian plays in the NCISAA - which is basically the private school league in the state - but, there is great talent there and Javier projects to play football on the next level. He is a 2024 prospect who stands at 6'3 and 205 pounds.

Marvin Ridge – OL [player_tooltip player_id='287361' first='Sean' last='McFarland'] – 14 Knockdowns and powered Mavericks to 273 rushing yards in win - McFarland has impressed in several offseason camps and continues to do great work for the Mavericks in now his senior year. McFarland stands at 6'1 and 260 pounds and holds offers from Emory & Henry and Benedict at this time. He is a great technician and the leader of a unit.

Concord – ATH Keyon Phillips – 6 Total TDs – 3 passing and 3 rushing – in victory - Keyon plays quarterback for the Concord Spiders, a storied program in the state of NC. He is a 2024 prospect who stands at 5'9 and 170 pounds. His future on the next level would most likely be at defensive back or a slot wide receiver given his size and athletic ability, but he is a definite playmaker and the one who makes the Spiders' offense go - if he is having a good night, so are the Spiders.

Draughn – RB [player_tooltip player_id='147684' first='Nigel' last='Dula'] – 279 yards rushing and 3 Touchdowns in victory - We usually talk about Draughn's QB [player_tooltip player_id='117960' first='Elijah' last='Tillery'] when the Wildcats program comes up, yet Dula had a huge game stepping into the spotlight this week. At 5'11 and 195, Dula is a very good running back prospect in the 2024 class who may be a bit under the radar at the moment. He has good vision and burst through the hole, and he looks very smooth in catching passes out of the backfield as well.

Crest – WR AJ Adams – 5 catches for 117 yards and 4 Touchdowns in victory - Usually when we talk about a Crest wide receiver making plays, it's [player_tooltip player_id='353087' first='Javarius' last='Green'] who has burst onto the scene this year. However, in this game, his presence opened things up for his teammate - Aj Adams. Adams is a 2024 prospect who stands at 5'9 and 160 pounds, and he plays slot receiver for the Chargers. He has some excellent agility in the open field and can start/stop very well. He also plays corner and is a physical and aggressive player on that side of the football.
