Continue ReadingWith the regular season winding down and big time league games coming up, there are plenty of top tier players showing out week in and week out across the Bay Area. Below, we will review some of the regions top stars from week 7 of the season across Norcal, along with highlight some top names to note who also had impressive showings.
WR Jackson Harris, Berkeley HS
Harris just picked up his first DI offer from Cal Poly and can have a great career in the Big Sky. He has been having a dominating season for Berkeley and went off again this weekend. Against Washington-Fremont, he had an impressive 3 touchdowns on 148 yards receiving with a return touchdown and interception. He is a big bodied high upside athlete that should draw FBS talent soon.
QB Jaret Bosarge, St. Vincent de Paul HS
Bosarge is closing in on a 1,000 yard rushing and 1,000 yard passing regular season for the defending D7 champs. He had another fantastic showing against a top D5 team in St. Bernards on Saturday going for 155 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He is one of the best two-way players across the region and is a legitimate candidate for Player of the Year honors across the NBL-Redwood.
LB Nathan Rooks, St. Vincent de Paul HS
Rooks is a big part of this Mustang offense and his ability to block and catch the ball out of the backfield makes him multi-dimensional and one of the most violent blockers the Bay Area has to offer. Helping open up run lanes for Hall and Bosarge against a 8 and 9 man box on Saturday, Rooks also had 11 tackles and 2 for loss from his Mike backer position. He holds multiple college offers and is a no brainer next level player.
RB Charles Brown, Antioch HS
One of the top rushers across the Bay Area, brown had another day at the office going for 202 rushing yards and two TD’s. He is a very slippery back with elite explosion and twitch in the short area while able to catch the ball out of the backfield.
RB/LB Santino Acevedo, Cardinal Newman HS
Back from injury, Acevedo picked up right where he left off prior to his absence and helped Newman to a solid win over a NBL opponent in Analy. One of the top players in the North Bay, he rushed for 189 yards and three scores while running hard all night and was all over the field on defense as well. He is a tough and physical bruiser that is a steady back but can break loose with sneaky third level speed in the open field.
RB Kai Hall, St. Vincent de Paul HS
Hall picked up right where he left off last week against Piner rushing for 160+ yards on 17 touches and 2 touchdowns with some big runs called back due to penalties. Those in the North Bay know he is closing in on the all time Redwood Empire rushing record and has a legitimate shot to break it before the Mustangs get into the playoffs.
ATH Hayden Anderson, Windsor HS
Anderson helped the Jaguars to a big time 34-30 win over a top D2 opponent in Rancho Cotate and put a interesting twist on the NBL-Oak. Anderson played well on both sides of the ball, making multiple explosive plays from the backfield when taking direct snaps and showing he is one of the top ’25 prospects the Bay Area has to offer.
WR Zayden Crockett, De Anza HS
Crockett had a big time performance on Friday night taking over the game for 246 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in De Anza’s 46-13 win over an always solid Salesian squad.
WR Danny Scudero, Archbishop Mitty HS
The Sac State commit has been one of the more explosive players across Norcal this Fall and has been un-guardable on the outside and from the backfield. He is twitchy at the first level with elite speed and vision in space with cutback abilities in the open field. He should fit nicely at the slot position in college and it wouldn’t surprise me if other FCS+ schools offered down the stretch.
QB Matt Dougherty, Saint Francis HS
Dougherty is one of the top quarterbacks in the region, and is a big time pocket passer with a strong arm and high football IQ. Throwing for two touchdowns over the weekend, he is a next level prospect that should gather FCS attention as the season winds down and prospect boards start shuffling for colleges.
Other Top Performances….
WR Johno Price, Menlo-Atherton HS
WR Cooper Bohlig, Miramonte HS
WR Andrew Adkison, Saint Francis HS
QB Luke Duncan, Miramonte HS
RB Jeaden Underwood, Kings Academy HS
Will Delormier, Tamalpais HS
DB Charles Cox III, Clayton Valley HS
