I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Calvin Kehrli
Calvin Kehrli
There hasn’t been many players, maybe one or two who I’ve featured on both sides of the ball. Calvin was featured in my linebacker article for last week but this week he will be featured on the offensive side of the ball. Against Liberty HS, he compiled 131 yards and 2 touchdowns during the game. He ran routes great, being able to use his speed to separate himself from the defenders, out-running players on the way to a long touchdown. He’s got great hands, not dropping many passes that come his way. He excelled on the defensive side too, as usual. He’s been fun to watch for Juanita HS all season long.
Jordan Dever
Jordan Dever
Jordan’s another player who I’ve included in a previous week for a big performance. Against Rogers HS in week 5, Dever compiled 117 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 catches for the day. He continued to show off his jumping ability, being able to still rise above the defender for the grab. His speed is great, showing it off many times in the open field and when he runs a go route and easily blows by the defensive back. Shadle Park’s offense has been stellar so far this year, it will be interesting to see how the end of the season pans out for Jordan and company.
Hudson Dayton
Hudson Dayton
I mentioned Hudson’s quarterback, Dylan Gravelle this week as he had a big game. Dayton also had a monster game, totaling 127 yards receiving on 9 catches. He is, has been, and will be Dylan’s go-to target. Even with opposing teams knowing that, the connection is very, very hard to stop. The senior is quick on the field and can create space as he needs. When catching the ball in full stride, it’ll be hard to pull down this senior wide receiver.
Gage Brumfield
Gage Brumfield
Gage is just a sophomore at WF West HS but he has been making a name for himself since last season. He had a great year on the basketball court, and is poised for a breakout year this year. On the football field, he’s productive as well. During his week 5 game, he compiled 116 yards receiving, most if not all in the first half. His speed translates nicely on the field, being able to outrun defensive backs with ease on go routes. His quarterback places the ball perfectly, as the ball just falls into his hands. His route running is impressive, being able to stop on a dime just in time for the ball to come to him. He has a ton of potential for both sports as the years go on. It’ll be a blast watching him develop.
Brady Beaner
Brady Beaner
Here’s another young athlete who has been outstanding this year on the football field. Him and his brother, Brock, produce on both sides of the ball weekly. I list Brady as an ATH well, because he does it all. He is position-less in my eyes, being able to line up at multiple spots on both sides of the ball. Against Sedro-Wooley HS, he ran the ball 5 times rushing for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns but he wasn’t done there. He caught 4 passes for another 147 yards and added another touchdown. He could very well be the fastest player in the 2025 class, but that’s for everyone else to decide. In the open field, I don’t know how defenders bring him down. His agility is through the roof and he is just extremely fun to watch fly around the field for Anacortes, and that won’t change over the years. We are in for a treat over the next couple seasons watching Brady play.
