Each of the players below have performed incredibly well on defense, and each player holds a specific, and unique skill set that makes them worth watching, and tracking moving forward. Take a look at each of these prospects when you have the chance.
Wesley Michaelson- Augusta Christian
Next week, Augusta Christian plays in another matchup against Hammond, and they have a great chance of not only winning, but seeing an addition to Michaelson's tackle totals. At this point of time,he currently sits as Georgia's regular season tackle leader, and winner, with 141 total tackles, and an average of 14.1 tackles a game. Out of all of these tackles, 69 of them were solos, and 72 of them were assists. With this, 14.5 of them were tackles for a loss, and Michaelson also racked up 2 sacks as well.
[player_tooltip player_id='438197' first='Nicholas' last='Baloga']- Rabun County
Baloga's high level of tackles, and production has been very beneficial for his team over the span of 10 games that they won, and 9 that he played in. His team currently sits with a 10-0 record, and will be moving forward into the playoffs. Currently he has a total of 131 tackles under his belt, with 68 of them being solos, and 63 of them being assists. To add to this, he has also racked up 12 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks, proving how versatile, and relentless of a player he truly is. Look for him to shoot up this list as Rabun County continues to dominate.
[player_tooltip player_id='330783' first='Julian' last='Fox']- Crisp County
After 10 games, Fox put up 130 tackles, with an average of 13 tackles a game. With this, he also proved to be able to make tackles in pursuit, and in the backfield. In doing so, he made 49 solo tackles, and 81 assisted tackles, Out of all of these, 7 of them were for a loss, and he found ways to get 7.5 sacks as well- changing momentum for his team consistently. Look for his numbers to continue to climb as the weeks go by when he and Crisp County enter the postseason.
[player_tooltip player_id='34062' first='Caleb' last='LaVallee']- Whitefield Academy
Lavallee and his team have 1 more regular season game to play in, but their likelihood of making it to the playoffs looks very opportunistic. They currently sit with a 6-3 record, and he currently has 122 tackles, with 1 more game left to play. In addition to this, his production has been insane- as he has averaged 17.4 tackles a game, and has a total of 81 solo tackles, and 41 assists. With this, he has also totaled 14 tackles for a loss, and 3 sacks.
Holden Trice- Harrison
Even though Trice has only played in 9 games, compared to Harrison's 10 games so far, he has done a good job of racking up tackles and finding his way on the list. At this point of the season, he has a total of 114 tackles, with an average of 12.7 tackles a game. In addition to this, he has racked up 74 solo tackles, and 40 assists. What is also impressive is that he has done so with 10 tackles for a loss, and 4 sacks as well. Moving forward, despite his great performance this season, he has a large chance of being surpassed on this list by the time the postseason comes around due to the fact that Harrison is not advancing forward.
