If you don’t have a great push upfront then it is hard to stop good offenses. We have some guys that we have looked at and noticed we haven’t spoken much about. Here are a few names and what they do well.
Aaron Travis, 6-5 270, 2024, Grenada HS
Aaron Travis is a country boy that loves to ride horses. He is a big guy that has some good natural strength. I’m assuming that is coming from ‘wrestling with that nag’ as he likes to call them. I’m very impressed when I watch his film. He does a great job of getting off blocks and getting to ball carriers. He has a big frame and is definitely a power 5 prospect. He recently received his first offer from Mississippi State and will be on campus for an Ole Miss game this weekend in Oxford.
TJ Spann, 6-3 330, 2024, Clinton HS
TJ Spann is a guy who is very aggressive on the defensive line. He also makes a lot of tackles in the backfield. He’s a guy that knows how to get back there and get some sacks. He has a big body that is hard to stop. Most offensive linemen have a very hard time blocking TJ. He isn’t a lazy guy on the line. He moves with strength and speed. I definitely think that he is a power five prospect. He has one offer from Marshall.
Alex Larry, 6-0 300, Greenwood, 2023
Alex Larry isn’t the tallest defensive lineman out there, but he handles his own. He is a very aggressive defender who knows how to use his quick hands to his advantage. He gets a quick release off the football and he can make good tackles when he is in open space. He has been getting some sacks and good plays behind the scrimmage this year. I think he is a FCS guy who deserves a chance at the next level.
Amarion Ware, 6-4 290, Harrison Central HS, 2023
Amarion Ware is a guy that a lot of us did not know until he was named an all star for the MS/AL Game. He is a big boy that knows how to use his body. He has six sacks so far and more to come. He is a player that will be a steal to a D1 school.
