Justice Haynes Justice Haynes 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Buford | 2023 State GA – Buford
It’s only fair that we start the list off with a massive performance from the top-ranked running back in Georgia. In a major 7A game between Buford and rival Mill Creek, the Alabama commitment ran wild, leading Buford to a giant 39-27 win. Haynes was dominant as usual, rushing 20 times for 214 yards and two touchdowns. His 56-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter showed why he’s one of the best in the country, zig-zagging his way through a talented Mill Creek defense for a touchdown. He showed patience, burst, and big play ability on is first score. His second touchdown came with 9 minutes left in the game and put the Wolves up two possessions late in the game. He’s such a smooth runner and hopes to lead the Wolves to ANOTHER state championship this year,
Makari Bodiford Makari Bodiford 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB McEachern | 2024 State GA – Walton
The Raiders are clicking on offense right now, and with the help of running back Makari Bodiford Makari Bodiford 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB McEachern | 2024 State GA , they were able to run wild and secure a giant win over a strong Kennesaw Mountain team. Bodiford was clearly the MVP for Walton and helped carry thee load offensively, rushing 23 times for an impressive 267 yards and four touchdowns in their big 43-12 win over the Mustangs. He ran hard, broke tackles, and looked to score every time he had the ball. He’s one of the top backs not only in North Georgia this year, but also in Cobb County and across the state in the state in the 2024 class. He’s having an excellent junior season and has shown he’s capable of playing at the next level down the road. Look for the Raiders to keep running the ball as they attempt to make another deep 7A playoff run next month.
Corbin Davenport – Fannin County
One of the most productive running backs in North Georgia this year, Davenport is coming off a tremendous week 9 performance against North Murray where he had a record-breaking performance on offense. The senior had a night to remember, rushing 28 times for 337 yards and six touchdowns while throwing another 59-yard touchdown pass in the big 68-42 win. Every time he had the ball, something good happened for Fannin County. He was the best player on the field and it was easy to see. He was playing on another level from everyone else and did everything he wanted all game long. He’s having an excellent season so far and had the game of his life this past weekend.
Malachi Jeffries – Cartersville
A tackle-breaking back with speed, Jeffries is having a breakout season this fall as a senior and has helped lead Cartersville to a strong 7-1 record. He’s got plenty of size at 5-foot-11 225-pounds and is a tough, physical runner. He runs behind his pads, breaks tackles with ease, and goes a good job of staying balanced and staying on his feet after contact. He’s quick for his size and knows how to take off for a big gain down the field. He had a game for the ages in a 44-26 win over Hiram last week, rushing 29 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been a breakout running back in Georgia this year and looks like he’s running better and better each week. He’s been fun to watch over the last few weeks and will be relied upon heavily for Cartersville once the playoffs come around.
